The Clinical Placement Coordinator works under the supervision of the Dean of Nursing. This
position is responsible for coordinating all clinical experiences for campus students by assisting
the dean, directors and faculty in identifying clinical sites to successfully complete evidence-
based learning opportunities. The position supports the mission and philosophy of the College
and represents the College to clinical agencies, students, and the community through clinical
scheduling and partnership development.

  • Develop and manage relationships with hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and other
    clinical agency sites for nursing students to complete clinical rotations.
  • Obtain signatures for initiating, renewing, or terminating affiliation agreements
    between the College and clinical sites, based on alignment with clinical objectives.
  • Manage relationships with existing clinical agency partners to ensure student and
    clinical site satisfaction as well as successful clinical experiences for nursing students.
  • Responsible for the identification of concerns with clinical placements and collaborate
    with the dean, directors and faculty for appropriate interventions to solve problems.
  • Coordinate and attend healthcare-related events such as clinical coordination and
    nursing consortium meetings and represent Pacific College by promoting a positive
    image.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of the College’s curriculum and programs and
    can clearly explain to clinical partners.
  • Plans and attends clinical coordination forums, pre-clinical summit events, career fairs,
    student forums, and conferences as outreach to potential students.
  • Monitors various clinical platforms to ensure students and faculty are compliant with
    clinical partner requirements and notify the dean and directors of noncompliant
    students or faculty, so they are prevented from entering clinical partner sites.
  • Serves as a role model for faculty, staff, and students in the areas of customer service,
    collaboration, communication, excellence, attendance, and general professionalism.
  • Utilizes relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus
    building, and win-win negotiation.
  • Attends weekly meetings on clinical placements with nursing departments.
  • Completes additional duties or tasks delegated by the Dean of Nursing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. State Laws and regulations related to licensure, certification and accreditation.
2. Principles and practices of administration, supervision, and training.
3. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
4. Interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
5. Establish and maintain collaborative, cooperative and supportive working relationships with
others.
6. Meet schedules and timelines.
7. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including complex proposals and
presentations.
8. Operation of a computer, Microsoft Office, and Windows Operating System.

Qualifications:
Applicants are required to have the following:
1. A bachelor’s degree or higher degree.
2. One year experience as a Clinical Coordinator or Clinical Placements Coordinator preferred.
3. Experience in customer service and working with other organizations.
