Career Services Officer

Stanbridge University, a premier leader in nursing and allied health education, is dedicated to preparing compassionate, skilled healthcare professionals through innovative, service-driven learning. The Career Services Officer plays a key role in advancing graduate employment outcomes by proactively developing healthcare employer partnerships, expanding hiring pipelines, and connecting employers with Stanbridge students and soon-to-be graduates. The position combines business development and employer engagement with strategic career coaching, helping students successfully navigate the healthcare job market and transition from education to employment.

Key Responsibilities

Employer Relations & Partnerships
  • Proactively prospect, identify, and pursue new healthcare employer partnerships with hospitals, clinics, long-term care providers, rehabilitation centers, and other healthcare organizations, with a strong focus on creating employment opportunities for Stanbridge students and soon-to-be graduates.
  • Conduct consistent outbound business development activities, including market research, cold and warm outreach, networking, referrals, and direct employer engagement to build a pipeline of prospective hiring partners.
  • Develop new employer relationships from initial outreach through partnership and hiring engagement, positioning Stanbridge as a reliable source of qualified, career-ready graduates.
  • Build and maintain an active employer prospect and partnership pipeline, with disciplined follow-up designed to convert prospective organizations into employers that actively recruit, interview, and hire Stanbridge students and graduates.
  • Identify employers with current and anticipated workforce needs and connect those hiring needs with Stanbridge’s upcoming graduate pipeline, academic programs, and qualified candidates.
  • Cultivate long-term employer partnerships that generate repeat hiring opportunities, strengthen graduate employment pipelines, and expand the university’s employer network.
  • Communicate employer workforce needs, hiring trends, qualifications, and candidate expectations to students, faculty, and university stakeholders to help prepare students for successful employment.
  • Leverage employer partnerships to expand participation in on-campus and virtual recruiting, employer panels, healthcare career fairs, interviews, networking forums, and other direct-to-student hiring activities.
Program Development & Collaboration
  • Develop targeted resources such as job search guides, competency-based resume templates, interview preparation tools, and market-specific career materials.
  • Contribute insights gained through employer prospecting, hiring conversations, and partnership development to support departmental planning, student preparation, and continuous improvement of career services.
  • Collaborate with academic and university stakeholders to align career readiness initiatives with employer expectations and evolving healthcare workforce needs.
Data Tracking, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Track and report student engagement, job placement metrics, alumni outcomes, employer activity, prospective employer outreach, and partnership development using CRM or career services management systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of employer contacts, outreach activities, follow-up, partnership status, hiring opportunities, and placement outcomes.
  • Apply data-driven decision-making to evaluate program effectiveness, identify gaps, and implement enhancements to career services and employer engagement strategies.
  • Use employer and placement data to identify opportunities for additional outreach, new partnerships, and expanded graduate hiring pipelines.
  • Stay current on healthcare hiring trends, credentialing requirements, licensure pathways, workforce needs, and regulatory changes impacting employment.
Career Coaching & Student Development
  • Provide one-on-one and group coaching in resume writing, LinkedIn optimization, interview preparation, networking, and job search strategies tailored to healthcare careers.
  • Conduct behavioral mock interviews, leveraging recruiter-level expertise and employer feedback to improve student performance and confidence.
  • Assess students’ strengths, competencies, career goals, and employment readiness to guide them toward appropriate employment pathways.
  • Develop and deliver career readiness workshops informed by real-world recruiter expectations, employer feedback, hiring trends, and competency models.
  • Help students and soon-to-be graduates understand employer expectations and effectively position their education, clinical experience, skills, and credentials in the healthcare employment market.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Attend trainings, conferences, networking events, employer meetings, and professional development workshops to remain current in career services, employer relations, workforce development, and business development best practices.
  • Represent Stanbridge University professionally when interacting with employers, community organizations, students, alumni, and other external partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and institutional goals.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and comfort engaging prospective employers by telephone, email, virtual meetings, networking, and in-person outreach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple employer prospects, student needs, follow-up activities, and competing priorities effectively.
Preferred
  • Experience in business development, employer relations, recruiting, career services, workforce development, or partnership development, preferably within healthcare or higher education.
  • Demonstrated ability and confidence in prospecting, cold calling, outbound outreach, networking, and developing new employer relationships that create employment opportunities.
  • Ability to build and manage a prospective employer pipeline, conduct consistent follow-up, and convert initial contacts into active hiring partnerships.
  • Knowledge of healthcare licensure pathways and industry expectations.
  • Familiarity with healthcare-specific job search strategies, recruiting practices, and employer relations.
  • Experience with job placement metrics, CRM/database systems, or career tracking platforms.
Compensation
  • $21.00–$24.00 per hour.
  • Compensation is based on education, experience, skills, and internal equity considerations.
