Position Overview:

REQUIRES IN OFFICE 2 DAYS A WEEK IN SACRAMENTO
Designs, develops, and supports enterprise Business Intelligence (BI), reporting, and analytics solutions that help clinical, financial, operational, and leadership teams make informed decisions. Owns the full reporting lifecycle, including requirements analysis, data investigation, SQL development, data modeling, data validation, report and dashboard development, extracts, data integration processes, troubleshooting, documentation, and production support.
Synthesizes complex clinical, administrative, financial, operational, and consumer data to identify trends, resolve data issues, improve reporting reliability, and uncover opportunities for operational improvement. Translates ambiguous business needs into accurate, maintainable, and practical reporting solutions while partnering closely with business stakeholders, operational leaders, application teams, analysts, and technical teams.
Serves as a knowledgeable technical resource for complex relational data, advanced SQL development, metric validation, reporting standards, and BI solution design. Supports high-impact initiatives by improving data quality, automating manual reporting processes, maintaining reliable reporting assets, and delivering analytics solutions that connect technical data work to real-world operational outcomes.
*This position is hybrid (work-from-home eligible on some days and on-site on other days). California residents only.

Job Description:

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • Bachelor's in Applied Statistics, Computer Analytics, Computer or related field

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Expert knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and relational database concepts.
  • Expert knowledge of database programming and data analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of reporting, analytics, dashboarding, or other BI applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of BI tools and data visualization concepts.
  • Working knowledge of calculated measures, semantic models, or tabular models.
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet, presentation, database, and documentation tools.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, IS team members, management, and executive personnel/staff.
  • Verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, subject matter experts, technical teams, and operational users.
  • Set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Analyze information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures in order to identify relevant concerns and factors.
  • Perform a variety of duties and often change from one task to another of a different nature with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
  • Skilled in developing documentation at a technical and user level.

Pay Range is $50.16 to $75.24 / hour

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
