The Southern California News Group (SCNG) is looking for a Business Development Manager to play a key role in leading sales and revenue growth initiatives in collaboration with senior management. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for creating and implementing the digital sales strategy, and will be accountable for the sales team's overall success.

Must be located in the Los Angeles area with monthly onsite expectations in Irvine, CA.

What you will do:

  • Establish individual sales performance goals, forecast team revenue, attain advertising revenue goals and manage monthly expense budgets

  • Manage and coach an experienced team of sales executives in the field and on calls with potential clients

  • Continually evaluate advertising solutions and team structures to improve day to day business

  • Identify process inefficiencies and make ongoing recommendations for streamlining systems and improving operations workflow

  • Evaluate, liaise and support multiple key external partners and internal stakeholders for incremental local and national revenue opportunities

  • Respond to ad-hoc analytics requests for internal tracking and performance reporting purposes

What you will bring:

  • Proven ability to manage a sales team and 4-5 years of experience in digital media sales

  • Demonstrated ability to establish client relationships and close deals through consultative selling

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

  • Analytical skills for data-driven reporting, forecasting, and goal-setting

  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Google AdWords and Google Analytics

Benefits and Compensation:

The annual salary range is $90,000 - $100,000 plus uncapped commission, an annual bonus opportunity, and cell phone/mileage reimbursement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. This role is eligible for a bonus based on performance. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, and a 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
