Business Analyst II

The Business Analyst II turns operational data, customer needs, and business questions into clear requirements, actionable insights, and effective digital capabilities. The role works primarily across two strategic initiatives: Customer Operations and Predictive Maintenance.

 This position is both internally focused and customer-facing. This role applies a strong analytical background, communicates a compelling story through data, and independently leads discovery for new AI-enabled development needs within defined workstreams. The Business Analyst II connects customers, business stakeholders, product leaders, data specialists, and engineering teams so that decisions and development priorities remain grounded in measurable business value.

 Core Responsibilities

• Partner independently with customers and internal stakeholders to understand business objectives, operational workflows, pain points, decisions, and desired outcomes for defined workstreams
• Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, process flows, data requirements, acceptance criteria, and prioritized development work
• Define key performance indicators, business rules, data definitions, and success measures in partnership with operational and technical stakeholders
• Facilitate discovery sessions, requirements reviews, solution workshops, demonstrations, and validation sessions with technical and non-technical audiences
• Own traceability from customer need and business objective through requirement, delivery, validation, and adoption for assigned initiatives
• Analyze operational, maintenance, product, and customer data to identify trends, relationships, anomalies, root causes, and improvement opportunities
• Turn complex analysis into a clear, concise story and present findings and recommendations at the level of detail appropriate to customers, leaders, product teams, and engineering partners
• Work with data and product teams to shape dashboards, reports, visualizations, alerts, and decision-support experiences that are intuitive and actionable
• Assess data completeness, quality, consistency, and usability; document limitations, recommend practical next steps, and coordinate resolution with data owners
• Serve as a trusted analytical partner in customer meetings, translating operational questions into data-driven investigations and development priorities
• Coordinate decisions, dependencies, risks, assumptions, and follow-up actions across workstreams; support user acceptance testing, release readiness, customer feedback, adoption planning, and post-release evaluation
• Use modern AI tools responsibly to accelerate analysis and lead discovery for additional AI-enabled capabilities by clarifying users, decisions, required data, and expected business outcomes
• Partner with data science, data engineering, software engineering, and product teams to convert approved AI opportunities into prioritized requirements and testable acceptance criteria and evaluate outputs for relevance, accuracy, explainability, operational fit, and risk

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, product analytics, technical consulting, digital product development, or a related role
• Independently gathers requirements and works across business, customer, data, product, and engineering teams to deliver data-driven solutions
• Presents analysis, recommendations, and project requirements directly to customers and senior stakeholders
• Applies strong analytical and problem-solving skills to structure ambiguous questions and determine the evidence needed to answer them
• Uses strong data-storytelling skills to explain complex findings in clear business language
• Applies practical fluency with AI tools and concepts and leads discussions about additional AI-enabled development needs
• Uses business-intelligence, data-visualization, analytics, or querying tools to explore data and communicate actionable insights
• Demonstrates strong written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills with technical and non-technical audiences
• Manages multiple priorities, works independently, and follows through in a customer-facing environment
• Applies knowledge of airline operations, technical operations, aircraft maintenance, reliability, or maintenance, repair, and overhaul processes
• Works independently with operational dashboards, predictive maintenance, asset-health monitoring, reliability analytics, or similar decision-support products
• Works in an Agile product-development environment and supports backlog refinement, testing, and release planning
• Applies familiarity with data governance, data quality, AI governance, or model-validation practices

The starting pay range for this position is $97,000 - $110,000 per year however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
