Job Description

The Opportunity: 
The Associate Marketing Activation Manager is responsible for supporting the Marketing Activation team with integrated marketing planning, consumer and market insights, business analysis, cross-functional coordination and marketing execution. They will support the translation of Mattel Games' global and regional strategies into actionable, locally relevant marketing plans and own key activation initiatives that drive brand and sales growth across channels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking, strong project management and organizational skills, excellence in communication, and the ability to deliver measurable results in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

 

  • Marketing Planning & Activation: In partnership with the Marketing Manager, translate overarching brand strategies into integrated marketing plans and briefs across key Mattel Games brands. Articulate messaging, activation approach and KPIs to support brand and sales objectives. Leverage consumer insights, market dynamics and learnings from past campaigns to inform plans. Build activation plans with clear timelines, responsibilities, investment priorities and channel KPIs.
  • Promotional Strategy and Execution: Lead promotional activity timelines for the year, with regular presentations to internal and external clients on approach and performance. Bring fresh ideas and strategic thinking on when and how to promote priority SKUs. Work closely with Analytics to establish forecasts, and with Sales and Omnichannel Retail Marketing teams to develop and execute promotions effectively.
  • Channel Execution: Lead day-to-day activation across assigned Mattel Games segments, ensuring global strategies and assets are translated into effective market execution. Closely monitor sales and activation performance across channels and leverage data to recommend changes to plans as needed to deliver revenue and profit targets. Partner closely with relevant cross-functional teams and lead meetings and workstreams where appropriate.
  • Category Research & Analysis: Leverage available consumer, category, competitive and retail data to identify trends, opportunities and risks across the Mattel Games portfolio. Translate insights into actionable recommendations to inform marketing plans, portfolio opportunities, retailer pitches and future brand strategy. 

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years (3 years with MBA) experience of marketing experience in multi-channel Retail or Consumer Products industry.
  • Integrated marketing experience required across paid media (digital, influencers, out of home) and owned channels including e-commerce, retail stores, e-mail, social, print/direct mail.
  • Excellent written/verbal, time management, and quantitative/analytical skills required.
  • Ability to independently build compelling visual marketing presentations. Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.

Ability to take conclusions from data and communicate and present those actionable insights to leadership and business executives.
  • Delivers Impact: Above all, wants to deliver impact both as an individual and as a team. Comfortable taking ownership to drive discussions with cross-functional partners resulting in a consensus recommendation. A proven willingness to go the extra mile and take initiative on the things that need to be done.
  • Highly Adaptable: Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities. A continuous learner that is ready to push the Marketing organization into new areas and challenge the status quo. Maintain a positive attitude that rolls with changes.
  • Collaboration and Influence: High EQ. Excellent communication skills, the ability to compromise and the desire to work with skill sets across the entire organization. Will be expected to lead teams that include team members with more senior titles.
  • Executive Presence: Must also be able to clearly communicate with all levels within the organization and to influence, persuade and sell direction for marketing. Will be expected to present to key internal and external stakeholders.

The pay range for this position is between $110,000 and $135,000 annually.
