Associate Laboratory Assistant - Clinical Laboratory

Performs routine non-technical and technical clinical laboratory tasks under supervision, including specimen processing, phlebotomy-related duties, and maintaining laboratory areas and equipment in sanitary condition. The position is per-diem with variable eight-hour shifts and requires a high school diploma or GED plus a California Certified Phlebotomy Technician license.

Under the general supervision of the Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing Supervisor, the Clinical Lab Assistant I performs routine non-technical, manual, and a moderate amount of technical work in the medical laboratory. Maintains laboratory areas and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition. Carries out related tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Upon hire: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License, or
- Upon hire: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician II License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Laboratory, medical office or hospital experience.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
