The Opportunity:

Revolution Medicines is seeking a Associate Director, Revenue Accounting and Finance to play a key role in commercial launch readiness as the company prepares for its first product launch and continues its transition to a commercial stage organization. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and help build scalable processes and controls to support the company's commercial growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly product revenue and gross-to-net close activities, including the calculation, recording, and monitoring of gross-to-net accruals and related reserve balances for prompt pay discounts, copay and patient assistance programs, returns, Medicaid, Medicare Part D, 340B, VA/DoD, and other forms of variable consideration.

  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analyses, reserve rollforwards, close schedules, and supporting documentation for revenue and GTN related accounts.

  • Partner directly with the Commercial and Market Access teams to develop and maintain GTN assumptions and forecasts, track performance, and evaluate pricing and contracting strategies.

  • Partner with Analytics & Insights to incorporate relevant demand, patient, and market data into GTN forecasts.

  • Develop dashboards, analytics, and reporting packages that provide visibility into gross sales, discounts, reserve adequacy, forecast accuracy, and emerging risks or opportunities.

  • Manage the day-to-day partnership with the external government pricing consultant, including coordinating required data submissions, reviewing government pricing calculations and related outputs, and supporting accuracy and compliance across government channels, including Medicaid, Medicare Part D, 340B, and VA/FSS programs.

  • Drive the adoption of approved AI-enabled tools and automation to eliminate manual processes across revenue accounting, gross-to-net forecasting, account reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close while ensuring compliance with company policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Director, Revenue Accounting and Finance, and the Vice President, Finance and Corporate Accounting on strategic initiatives, cross functional projects and SEC reporting disclosures.

  • Serve as an HQ partner for global revenue and reporting by coordinating with regional finance and accounting teams to standardize revenue inputs, forecast reporting, variance analysis, key assumptions, controls, and consolidation ready reporting to support senior leadership decision making.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive working experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

  • Proactive learner with demonstrated curiosity and interest in using AI.

  • Demonstrated expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition, gross-to-net (GTN) accounting and forecasting.

  • Experience strengthening accounting processes, and internal controls in compliance with SOX, SEC, and U.S. GAAP requirements.

  • Continuous improvement mindset; constantly seeking ways to drive innovation and efficiencies in financial operations.

  • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple complex processes simultaneously.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility across commercial, Market Access, and executive teams.

  • Advanced analytical skills and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
