As a member of the Brand Maker Studio team, you will be instrumental in building our brands, and crafting best-in-class marketing materials for a wide range of audiences that help celebrate our latest products, features and company developments.

We’re looking for an Associate Design Director to join Brand Maker Studio at Snap Inc.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and execute on the design for our portfolio of brands, including developing brand systems, guidelines, and design solutions that serve a global audience.

  • Assist in leading, inspiring, and energizing a diverse team of designers and external partners to execute efficiently and effectively towards business objectives.

  • Help to elevate and raise the quality of design craft across all aspects of our portfolio of brands.

  • Lead and mentor fellow designers on the team, helping to both manage their output and develop, nurture and grow their talent.

  • Help to grow, develop and define the team's creative culture.

  • Manage and nurture collaborative working relationships with cross functional stakeholders across varying verticals, disciplines and markets.
     

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience leading teams and have a proven track record of selling through design work in compelling and effective ways to large cross functional teams and executive stakeholders.

  • Proven understanding of how to build and maintain brand identities, with experience within consumer-facing industries such as fashion, lifestyle, or technology.

  • Expert in identifying outstanding ideas and design concepts and shaping them through clear and concise feedback.

  • Ability to gain a high level understanding of business problems while partnering with marketing and strategy stakeholders up to the executive level to solve them.

  • Partner closely with product design, marketing, program management, and production to drive brand consistency, providing strategic design guidance and influence overall design strategy.

  • Be highly curious and passionate about exploring new creative formats and ways of creative execution that help drive business impact.

  • Manage ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to make quick, high-quality decisions based on evolving project needs and creative goals.

  • Work in a clear and thoughtful manner and be able to articulate the strategic thinking behind your creative process.

  • Have a deep understanding of design, branding and marketing processes.

  • Thrive in a collaborative environment, but can also work autonomously with strong time management skills.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of experience in brand design, with a track record of creating work that's both critically acclaimed and commercially successful.

  • Hands-on creative with demonstrable experience working as a designer (in-house, freelance or studio)

  • Experience communicating complex design concepts to non-designers.

  • Highly proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite and Figma

  • Portfolio that showcases your design experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with hardware and product design teams to bring your work to life.

  • Experience working with emerging technologies such as AR/VR and AI.

  • Specific expertise in After Effects and motion graphics.

  • Experience working in a Google Docs lead project environment is a plus.

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $190,000-$284,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $181,000-$270,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $162,000-$241,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
