Position Summary
We are seeking an Analytics Engineer with skills in pipeline development and data visualization to support data enablement and operational reporting for our Mortgage teams, including sales, operations, and product. Our ideal candidate has a strong foundation in pipeline development and experience designing and building data dashboards, and is motivated to learn about data enablement and apply business context to data model and dashboard design. In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders to structure data for easy access and analysis and to maintain and expand on data reports used by Mortgage business teams. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with other members of the Analytics team on foundational projects that link Mortgage data to other consumer information and empower analysts and business users across the company with more and easier access to data.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders and business teams to understand priorities and identify opportunities to advance their analytics solutions
- Provide support to stakeholders, triage requests, investigate data issues, and create ad hoc reports.
- Develop prototype reports and dashboards within an agile framework.
- Showcase expertise in visualization and storytelling with data best practices.
- Work with the team to define, implement, and test new data sources and transformations.
- Conduct QA activities for new development and enhancements.
- Provide input to Data Engineering on requirements and enhancements to existing data pipelines, data sets, and data platforms
- Assist in data modeling, transformation, and normalization projects
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- BS in Computer Science, DS, or related technical degree or equivalent work experience
- 1-3 years' experience as an Analytics Engineer, BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role
- 1+ years' hands-on SQL experience in a work environment
- Experience building reports and visualizations to represent data intuitively in Tableau or similar data visualization tools
- Experience with ETL processes, software development, and lifecycle awareness
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly describe technical work to non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and think critically about their strengths and weaknesses
- Analytical mindset and willingness to identify and question assumptions
- Experience in a Mortgage business and/or working with sales teams strongly preferred
