Alternative Investment Fund Controller – Vice President 

As an Alternative Investment Fund Controller within J.P. Morgan Global Alternative Investments Solutions (“GAIS”) Group, you will oversee the accounting, financial reporting, and financial statement preparation for alternative investment products across multiple jurisdictions. You will work closely with third-party service providers and internal stakeholders to support accurate, timely, and fund oversight and reporting.

Key Responsibilities 

• Manage and oversee third-party fund administrators, including service delivery, issue resolution, and adherence to agreed timelines. 

• Review monthly or quarterly net asset values (NAVs), capital allocations, capital calls, distributions, carried interest calculations, and management fee calculations. 

• Coordinate with auditors and third-party fund administrators to oversee the timely issuance of audited and unaudited financial statements. 

• Support compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal controls for financial and management reporting. 

• Prepare fund expense budgets for new products and forecasts for ongoing fund expenses; monitor actual results against expectations. 

• Partner with internal teams, including Tax, Investor Relations, and Middle Office, to resolve issues and support fund reporting. 

• Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries from investors, internal stakeholders, auditors, and external service providers. 

• Apply industry knowledge when reviewing fund documents and participating in cross-functional discussions related to new fund launches. 

• Review fund expenses to ensure compliance with the fund expense policy, contractual and  governing documents. 

• Build and maintain effective relationships with team members, internal stakeholders, and third-party service providers. 

• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to team members and contribute to a strong control-oriented culture. 

• Lead or support ad hoc projects and process-improvement initiatives as needed. 

Required Qualifications and Skills 

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and IFRS as applicable to alternative investment funds. 

• Understanding of Lux GAAP and Spanish GAAP is a plus 

• At least eight years of experience in private equity and/or hedge fund accounting. 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 

• CA or CPA preferred 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex matters clearly to a range of stakeholders.
