Account Representative

Position Summary

As an Account Representative, you will play an important role in driving customer growth, strengthening account relationships, and generating new business opportunities within an assigned territory, industry, or portfolio of accounts. This role focuses on inside sales, account management, lead generation, prospecting, lead qualification, customer engagement, and sales support through inbound and outbound channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and qualify sales leads through inside sales activities, then transition qualified opportunities to the appropriate next-level sales team for continued engagement and conversion.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to acquire new customers while retaining and expanding the existing customer base.

  • Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, email outreach, inbound leads, and other multichannel sales activities.

  • Qualify sales leads by understanding customer requirements, business needs, purchasing objectives, and potential opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and proactively follow up on qualified leads and opportunities.

  • Sell and renew company products and services through telephone, email, digital channels, and other electronic sales methods.

  • Provide customers with knowledgeable guidance on company products, services, systems, and technology solutions.

  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with channel partners, customers, and internal sales teams.

  • Collaborate with field sales representatives to support territory, account, and customer growth strategies.

  • Support sales activities including quotation generation, order processing, follow-up delivery, and other back-end sales functions.

  • Monitor customer activity and identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, renewals, and account expansion.

  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, competitive activity, and the company’s products and services.

  • Utilize CRM and other sales systems to maintain accurate customer information, track activities, manage opportunities, and support sales forecasting.

  • Prepare activity reports, pipeline updates, forecasts, and other sales-related reports as requested.

  • Direct customers to appropriate company websites, digital platforms, and other resources for additional product and service information.

  • Represent the company professionally in all customer-facing activities while advocating for customer needs internally.

  • Meet or exceed assigned individual and/or team sales quotas, revenue targets, pipeline goals, and performance objectives.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience, including at least one year of experience directly related to the position.

  • Experience in account management, inside sales, business development, customer service, lead generation, sales support, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to prospect for new business, qualify leads, develop sales opportunities, and build customer relationships.

  • Strong understanding of sales processes, customer engagement, pipeline management, and account growth strategies.

  • Ability to develop a strong working knowledge of products, services, systems, and technology solutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, channel partners, and internal stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate moderately complex customer and business situations.

  • Ability to work independently with general supervision while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and other business and sales technology tools.

  • Comfortable working in a performance-driven environment with individual and/or team sales goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling technology products, IT solutions, services, or related products and services.

  • Experience working with channel partners, resellers, distributors, or field sales organizations.

  • Experience managing a diverse customer portfolio, territory, industry, or product line.

  • Familiarity with CRM, sales enablement, and digital sales platforms.

  • Experience in a quota-driven sales environment.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $51,100.00 - $86,900.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.

At Ingram Micro certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus or sales incentives and long-term incentives. These awards are allocated based on position level and individual performance.
