Adeptus Advisors LLC, a growing full-service CPA and Business Management firm, with offices in New York City, New Jersey, Long Island, Maryland, White Plains, and California, is seeking an Account Manager to support our Los Angeles Business Management practice. We are a tight-knit team that specializes in music business management with a clientele that consists mainly of touring artists, producers, songwriters, and independent labels.
The Account Manager plays a key role in managing the day-to-day financial operations for a roster of clients. This role works closely with Managers and Partners while serving as a primary point of contact for clients and their teams. Responsibilities include financial oversight, client communication, and coordination across all aspects of business management, including bookkeeping, AP/AR, payroll, tour accounting, insurance, royalties, tax planning, and general financial management.
Job Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day financial operations for assigned clients
Review bookkeeping work, including bank and credit card reconciliations
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable (bill pay & invoicing)
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and their representatives (managers, attorneys, agents, etc.)
Review and reconcile intercompany accounts
Prepare and review payroll reports
Prepare commissions schedules
Assist with preparation and review of 1099 forms
Assist with tour accounting and reporting as needed
Coordinate with tax team regarding tax planning and compliance matters
Assist with credit applications and other financial documentation
Prepare financial reports and Excel schedules for clients and internal review
Help prioritize workflow and ensure deadlines are met
Maintain organized financial records and documentation
Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate efficiently
Requirements
3+ years of experience working in business management or accounting
Experience in the music industry strongly preferred
Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
Experience managing financial workflows and reviewing work of junior staff preferred
In-person 5 days a week (non-remote)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Strong proficiency with accounting software – AgilLink, QuickBooks Desktop, or QuickBooks Online
Experience with preparation of 1099 forms
Strong attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to work overtime if necessary
