Group Summary:
The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Manager will be assigned a book of business to manage by their supervisor and in line with management expectation and direction.  This business will fall into one of three categories: (1) Target Pursuit Business, (2) Business in Development, and (3) Business in Production. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Target Pursuit Business

  • Create Plan, Lead the development, and Execute customer strategies to secure targeted business.

  • Plan, Lead and Manage the quote process for targeted programs to completion with the divisions (spend time at divisions to collectively and clearly understand customer and division requirements and gain intricate knowledge of figures and accuracy)

  • Ensure all appropriate customer deliverables are addressed in the final quote submission package. 

  • Use creative commercial negotiation skills: “business common sense”, ask for team/manager support whenever needed, with tenacity to find a solution/resolution.

  • Ensure Purchase Orders and customer authorization are correct and properly received.

  • Understand and Recommend Pricing Strategies and Manufacturing Process efficiencies to maximize profits.

(2)  Business in Development

  • Plan, Lead and Manage the commercial elements on each program throughout development to identify and immediately address all commercial issues.

  • Ensure program deliverables and timing are understood by the division(s), and customer expectations are met.

  • Understand and Recommend Pricing Strategies and Manufacturing Process efficiencies to maximize profits. 

(3)  Business in Production

  • Plan, Lead and Manage all commercial elements of the program throughout launch and production.

  • Ensure program deliverables and timing are understood by the division(s) and customer expectations are met.

  • Understand and Recommend Pricing Strategies and Manufacturing Process efficiencies to maximize profits.

Other Job Elements:

Perform an effective review of our customer’s activities to identify situations that may impact Magna's business or present product and sales opportunities.

  • Coordinate communication on development and sales opportunities with the rest of the global team as needed.

  • Communicate appropriate and accurate customer and supplier intelligence to their manager, business development teams, and other appropriate individuals within the company.  Follow up until the all elements of job/program/task are completed.

  • Represent our company professionally and with a high level of integrity and enthusiasm.

  • Develop professional relationships of Trust and Integrity with the customer, divisions, teams, peers and suppliers that support our ability to be successful.

  • Network effectively to utilize resources within our company.

  • Collaborate with Business Development Leads to set goals and action plans for Target Pursuit.

  • Ensure Divisions are Trained and Competent in customer process and procedures.

  • Business Awards to Target Pursuit

  • Acceptance of other job duties as required and/or assigned, which could be outside of the scope of normal activities to support the entire sales team.

  • Open Issues Avoidance and Resolution

  • Commercial and Customer Management in Support of Divisional Program Management Process

  • Effective networking and utilization of resources throughout the company.

  • Confident and Effective Communication and Coordination at divisions to develop business.  Technically Competent with Engineering background, recommended.

  • Confident and Effective Communication with Customer and Divisions to address and resolve confrontational issues professionally and create future business opportunities.

  • Quote Process and Commercial Negotiation Process

  • Open Commercial Issues Resolution (Identify - Track - Close)

  • Account Management

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Special Knowledge/Skills – Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Written and verbal English language skills.

Experience – 5+ Years of Automotive sales experience, preferably with Ford.

Physical Demands/Work Environment - Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
