Art Nerd City Guides feature cool, hidden, and unique art and art history.  We cover where artists lived, partied and died, public art works and the stories behind them, private installations for public consumption, historical sites full of secrets, and many things that you’ve never noticed before but stare you in the face daily.  Written with approachability and wit, each entry is not only a good read, but also a well researched insight.

The first city guide, Art Nerd New York started out as a humble tumblog in late 2010 with a bonafide website up in early 2012.  The website ‘officially launched’ on March 30, 2012 with a launch party event at the Tribeca Grand Hotel. Art Nerd has been mentioned by PMc MagazineWarholianThe World’s Best EverArrested MotionGallerist NY, Elle Mexico Magazine, Talking Points Memo & Creem Magazine.  In early 2013, Art Nerd became a content partner with Google’s Field Trip location based mobile app, Artslant, Sixty Inches from the Center, and Berlin Art Link.  In Spring 2013, Art Nerd New York grew into Art Nerd City Guides and expanded into Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. 

In 2013 Art Nerd has partnered with many art museums, nonprofits and the following art fairs: SCOPE NY March 2013, AAF NY April 2013, Pulse NY May 2013, ArtPad SF May 2013, artMKT Hamptons July 2013, Fountain Chicago Sept. 2013.   Forthcoming partnerships are slated with AAF Seattle November 2013, SCOPE Miami December 2013 and the LA Art Show January 2014.

In March/April 2013 (pre-expansion) artnerdnewyork.com received 8,400 visits, 25,100 pageviews a month.

In July/August 2013 art-nerd.com averaged 11,000 visits, 22,000 pageviews a month.

In September/October 2013 (post-Chicago launch) art-nerd.com received 15,100 visits, 27,200 pageviews a month.

Our goal is to launch a successful and sustainable membership program in 2013-4 with the long-term goal of being acquired by the right lifestyle/online media/publishing company. We’re looking for partners and investors that can help expand our coverage, events and brand awareness across the US and abroad (boutique arty hotels are ideal). We’ll be hosting more media, VIP and membership Art Nerd events across the US, but mostly in the New York and Los Angeles areas in 2013-4.
