Offices are built with intention in this town. Because in Los Angeles more than most places, environment is everything — and the tech companies who call this place home know that well.
The spaces they build are more than just gorgeous — they’re reflections of the talent they house and the broader goals those teams are working toward.
Here are three LA companies who do that particularly well, and whose spaces we were lucky enough to tour virtually.
There’s a lot to like about Centerfield Media’s office. Based smackdab in the middle of Silicon Beach, the digital media company plays into its laid-back beach surroundings with a resort-like outdoor patio space (they have literal work cabanas) and a yoga studio on site. Centerfield’s Dugout platform provides big data marketing and sales solutions to a top-tier list of Fortune 500 clients, including AT&T and Sprint. Did we mention they’ve raised $156 million — and they’re hiring?

We’ve had an eye on Within for a while — and it turns out, they have a pretty amazing office. Based in the heart of Culver City, the virtual reality company has the kind of office you want to spend time in, an industrial-chic tech mecca with VR/AR demo rooms and wall-to-wall windows. The company was founded by music video director Chris Milk and former Googler Aaron Koblin and has raised $52.6 million in funding to date. That cash is going into building out their team, from product to design.

The company built the world’s first consumer-focused clean power platform, offering renewable energy certificates from local, regional and national wind farms to make clean energy accessible for anyone with a utility bill. Inspire’s (frankly, gorgeous) office reflects those values, featuring a living green wall, a track around the office for walking meetings and outdoor collaboration spaces.
