AmazeVR secured $17M. AmazeVR developed a solution that lets people attend concerts using virtual reality tech. The company pulled in Series B funding led by Mirae Asset Capital to expand partnerships with artists and their management agencies, labels and publishers. It recently announced a partnership with K-pop agency SM Entertainment with plans to produce immersive VR concerts. This round brings its total funding to $47.8 million. [TechCrunch]

Flawless is expanding its team. The company builds AI-powered solutions for the film industry. Its products can re-render an actor’s facial movement on video to match the audio of re-recorded or translated scripts. Due to its unique solution, the company is poised for growth and is fueling a hiring push, bringing around 70 new roles to its LA headquarters across DevOps, engineering product and more. Fabric secured $4M. Fabric developed a web platform that uses geospatial tech and augmented reality to engage people in the environment around them. It emerged from stealth with a total of $4 million in funding, and it’s getting started within the sports industry, enabling teams to create interactive activities for fans during games. Its funding will help fuel hiring across engineering, product design and customer success. [Built In LA]

FLYR Labs joined forces with Avianca. FLYR Labs, which develops cloud-based revenue operating software for transportation companies, announced a new agreement with Colombian airliner Avianca. The deal will enable Avianca to advance its commercial decision-making under using data intelligence, revenue management and e-commerce capabilities. The Santa Monica-based company is also currently hiring across a range of roles. [FLYR Labs]
