General Assembly is offering five $2,000 scholarships for their upcoming Web Development Immersive Program, a 12-week course that will position graduates for a junior developer role.

As expected by the great educators at General Assembly, graduates will be well-prepared for the job hunt, armed with portfolios of their projects and fluency in front- and back-end development by the end of the course. General Assembly also sets students up with networking opportunities through field trips, meetups and project presentations for the tech community.

In addition to syncing up with LA techies at its Santa Monica campus, General Assembly also connects students to global tech communities through its simultaneous programs in San Francisco, New York, Boston, London, Berlin, Hong Kong and Sydney.

The course instructors are prepared to take their students “from zero to sixty,” although it is expected that prospective students are familiar enough with web development to know that it is what they want to pursue full-time. General Assembly also looks for students with a thirst to tackle problems and who are willing to completely dedicate themselves to the program (no side projects or freelance gigs, they say!).

Thanks to the support of Cross Campus, Launchpad LA and LAVA, the $2,000 scholarship will knock quite a bit off of the $11,500 price tag; to snag a scholarship, students must fill out an application by December 6. Winners will be announced a week later. To learn more about the course, prospective students can attend an information session at General Assembly Wednesday so can they can meet with course instructors and alumni. The course starts December 16 - and culminates April 1. “Twelve weeks. All day. Every day,” as General Assembly likes to say.
