Apex, a space tech manufacturing company that develops configurable satellite bus platforms, secured $200 million in a Series C funding round led by Point72 Ventures. The company’s off-the-shelf solutions enable customers to reduce risk and cost. Instead of having to build their own spacecraft, they can focus on advancing their space capabilities using Apex’s products.
The company has seen increased customer demand for its solutions from commercial and government organizations. Apex’s latest capital raise follows the launch of its first spacecraft mission, which recently achieved the one-year-on-orbit milestone.
The fresh capital will help Apex ramp up production at Factory One, its 50,000-square-foot production complex in LA. The company will work to build out its inventory ahead of customer need, stocking up on satellite buses that support missile defense, space-based interceptors, LEO and GEO space domain awareness and combat power. Apex will also deliver vehicles for communications and remote sensing constellations.
