Hyperloop One is seeking a Business Analyst Intern who is passionate about bringing the Hyperloop to market. We are looking for highly motivated candidates with entrepreneurial drive, intellectual curiosity, and analytical capabilities to support company initiatives and identify business risks and opportunities. The position requires strong organizational skills, ability to work collaboratively, and effective communication. The Business Analyst Intern will support transportation project evaluation tasks and business development activities, interface with employees across finance, business development, product / engineering, operations, and marketing teams on a range of topics to assess the commercial feasibility of the Hyperloop system. This role will perform a variety of business functions, including, but not limited to detailed market research, financial and business modeling, developing go-to-market strategies, and creating cleanly and succinctly synthesizing findings into presentation and marketing materials.

This position is located in our Los Angeles, California office and reports to the Business Intelligence Manager. Internship dates are May – August 2017. Application deadline in January 13, 2017.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of specific efforts that Business Intelligence Managers have identified as top priorities
• Work across teams to engage internal and external stakeholders, deeply understand problems, and gather data
• Research specific markets on topics such as demand and ridership, geopolitical climate, investment climate, ongoing and prospective transportation and construction projects, and other transportation-related topics
• Leverage knowledge of industry to provide insights into targeted markets, geographies, and governments
• Effectively, concisely, and accurately summarize findings in a compelling manner
• Apply findings to financial modeling efforts, thoroughly document assumptions, interpret outputs, and make recommendations driven by data and evidence-based insights

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an MBA program and seeking a summer internship
• BA / BS (or MA / MS) from a top university or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of experience in Finance, Management Consulting, Transportation, Logistics, or Operations highly preferred; or,
• Experience in a role that requires rigorous financial or business analytics
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to navigate an ambiguous environment and entrepreneurial drive, to handle stress well and maintain a positive attitude and intellectual curiosity
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Have authorization to work in the U.S.
