We are seeking an experienced Workday HRIS Lead to join our team in the U.S. as we embark on a global Workday implementation. This position reports to the Sr Manager, Compensation & Benefits. The Workday HRIS Lead will lead the Workday implementation, own the end-to-end configuration of the system and provide support to other team members. Long-term, this position may develop into a people leader opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Workday system administration and project management, leadership potential, excellent analytical and communication skills, and a desire to influence and build sustainable practices to drive organizational impact.
Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain Workday core tenant and business functionality including business processes, custom objects, calculated fields, notifications, reporting, and dashboards for at least 5 modules.
- Establish a holistic view of the Workday ecosystem to optimize internal opportunities and deliver impactful solutions.
- Act as the primary owner of Workday, lead the implementation efforts of HR, and provide ongoing status updates to HR and Executive Steering Committee.
- Manage the ongoing design, configuration, deployment and maintenance of Workday configuration.
- Lead full-cycle HRIS projects including building project plans, coordinating testing activities, and tracking project decisions to stay on schedule and execute implementations.
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams in Business Applications, Finance, PMO, and external implementation support vendors.
- Manage data conversion and system decommission of legacy systems.
- Manage and develop technical process documentation related to configuration of Workday.
- Develop testing scripts and oversee all user acceptance testing activities within the system.
- Develop and own procedures and protocols across the HRIS function.
- Establish working relationships and delineate roles and responsibilities with COEs and cross functional teams.
- Oversee the implementation of Workday product updates and assess their downstream impact to systems, enhanced functionality, and user experience.
- Establish communication plans and deliver end user training to drive user accessibility within HR and the business.
- Collaborate with HR Ops, COEs, and cross functional teams to identify areas of improvement, recommend changes, advise on Workday system capabilities, and implement functional solutions.
- Translate functional requirements into technical specifications via information gathering, workshops, sessions and interviews.
- Research, analyze, document, troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within Workday in collaboration with implementation partners and Workday Community.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver complex custom Workday reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite) using Workday report writer.
- Develop and manage the HRIS roadmap, including maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and acting as the subject matter expert for optimizing HR systems.
- Establish HR Metrics, effectively communicate their impact, and recommend data driven decisions.
- Advise on and enable AI solutions within Workday partnering with Accurate’s AI COE as needed.
- Provide direction and support to other HRIS individuals as necessary.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, MIS, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8-12 years experience in a HRIS, or a similar role.
- 6+ years experience with Workday is required.
- Proficient experience and knowledge of 5+ Workday modules such as Core HCM, Reporting, Absence, Compensation, Talent, Learning, Peakon, Benefits, Recruiting, Journeys, Help, Workforce Planning etc.
- Workday Pro certified strongly preferred.
- Direct experience in a Workday implementation is preferred.
- Previous leadership experience is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Workday security and integration is preferred.
- Extensive understanding of and experience with the system life cycle and object-oriented architecture.
- Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management.
- Advanced analytical skills, the ability to interpret complex data and recommend data driven actions.
- Advanced Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables.
- Ability to demonstrate creative problem-solving skills and drive delivery & execution.
- Exceptional attention to detail and process-oriented individual.
- Effective communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with and influence all levels of management and cross-functional teams using good judgement.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
