The Wire Harness Engineering role within the El Segundo team will focus on the 3D design and installation engineering of wire harness assemblies for spacecraft applications. This position requires close collaboration with multiple engineering groups to develop and verify wiring systems that meet complex mechanical and system requirements, supporting spacecraft signals, power, data, and special-purpose wiring. The engineer will contribute within a small team, providing technical expertise, mentorship, and ensuring design integrity throughout the product lifecycle.
Position Responsibilities:• Develop and model 3D wire harness bundle assemblies using advanced CAD tools within complex spacecraft assemblies• Design wire harness installation layouts, support details, and create 2D/3D mock-ups and form boards• Interpret and apply wire design schematics, requirements, and wire list details accurately• Support and coordinate with manufacturing and installation teams to ensure producibility and installation quality• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering groups to define system and mechanical requirements and guide the design toward final configuration• Conduct schematic validation, hand calculations, design reviews, and utilize analysis tools (e.g., Mentor Capital, CREO) to verify system functional integrity• Contribute to the generation, release, and management of engineering drawings and documentation• Communicate effectively across teams to manage priorities and resolve design or integration issues

- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Level 2: 1+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ years of experience with wire harness, electrical and/or mechanical design
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Level 3: 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of experience in wire harness design, manufacturing and/or integration experience
- Experience in manufacturing, specializing in wire harness
- 1+ years of experience with computer aided design (CAD) tools for the design of mechanical components/assemblies
- Ability to lead and understand schematic details
- Understanding of EMI/EMC separation for wire design
