Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) Core accelerates customer outcomes and business growth. By uniting product, engineering, marketing, sales, customer success, and partners around a common customer mission, we help customers realize value faster and turn innovation into measurable business impact. Through deep technical expertise and differentiated go-to-market execution, we win competitively, capture market share, and scale repeatable growth motions. We differentiate through value creation - delivering world-class, AI-powered customer experiences that accelerate adoption, strengthen loyalty, and create sustainable competitive advantage, driving growth that outpaces the market.

Within MCAPS Core, the Windows & Devices Sales (WDS) team unites the creation and delivery of Windows and device solutions to drive customer satisfaction globally. We work closely with a diverse ecosystem of partners and customers to ensure innovative solutions reach every market and segment.  With a vision to build and sell Microsoft AI‑powered platforms, cloud services, and devices through a rich partner ecosystem, the Windows and Device Sales (WDS) organization brings together sales, technical expertise, and partners to help customers achieve real business outcomes with Microsoft technology. WDS plays a critical role in shaping and delivering the endpoint platform that powers modern, secure, and AI‑enabled work. WDS works across Microsoft’s commercial ecosystem, including Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) silicon partners, distributors, resellers, and services partners - to drive Windows platform adoption, protect and grow share, and ensure customers realize long‑term value from their device and endpoint investments.

This role contributes to a multi‑billion‑dollar business and plays a direct role in defending and expanding Windows as the enterprise endpoint platform, enabling customers to modernize their environments, adopt AI‑driven workflows, and build confidence in Windows as the foundation for future innovation.

As a Windows Specialist Manager, you will lead a team of Windows Specialists who help Microsoft’s largest and most strategic customers define, defend, and modernize their Windows endpoint strategy in an era shaped by AI, security threats, and rapid platform competition. You will set direction, coach talent, and drive execution through your team while ensuring Windows remains the foundational platform for secure, AI-driven work. In this role, you will manage team performance across high-impact, time-bound customer engagements where Windows platform decisions are at risk or strategically critical. You will help your team articulate differentiated Windows value across security, resiliency, management, and AI workloads; orchestrate partners and internal teams; and convert lighthouse wins into repeatable evidence that scales across industries and partners, while also engaging directly with customers.

This opportunity will allow you to build and develop a high-performing Specialist team, strengthen executive-level customer impact through others, and play a visible leadership role in protecting and expanding Microsoft’s commercial footprint in priority accounts.

Candidates who live within 50 miles of Microsoft's Redmond campus will be required to work in the office 3 days per week.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
