Lead Ocient’s National Security Solutions sales segment by executing the go-to-market plan, generating pipeline, closing business, building and coaching a high-performing sales team, improving forecasting discipline, and partnering with the Solutions leader on a unified demo-led sales motion. The role reports to the CRO and requires experience selling into national security, defense, or intelligence markets, along with the ability to obtain a federal security clearance.
About Ocient:
Ocient is building OcientAIQ™ – a complete ecosystem for delivering trusted agentic AI solutions at petabyte scale, for the organizations that can't afford to get AI wrong. Our customers protect networks, secure nations, and power the global economy. The problems we solve are genuinely hard, and the work matters.
Founded in 2016 by the team that built Cleversafe (acquired by IBM in 2015), Ocient is headquartered in Chicago with a remote-first global team. We are a carbon-neutral company backed by leading investors including Greycroft, OCA Ventures, In-Q-Tel, and Buoyant Ventures.
Job Title: VP of Sales, National Security Solutions (ONSS)
Location: Remote (US Based Only)
- We cannot sponsor or transfer any visas, of any kind now or in the future (ex. OPT, EAD, H1B, H4, etc.)
Reports to: Chief Revenue Officer
Position Overview:
We’re looking for a VP of Sales to lead our National Security Solutions team. This is a segment with real momentum and a clear GTM plan already in place. We need a leader who can take that plan and execute it: building the team, driving the pipeline, and closing the business that makes ONSS a flagship segment for Ocient.
You’ll partner closely with our Solutions leader for ONSS to bring a unified, demo-led approach to the market, and you’ll report directly into the CRO as part of our broader OcientAIQ go-to-market leadership team.
Responsibilities:
- Own execution of the ONSS go-to-market plan, from pipeline generation through closed business.
- Partner with the ONSS Solutions leader as a true counterpart, aligning sales and solutions around one motion.
- Build, lead, and coach a high-performing sales team.
- Bring process discipline and predictable forecasting to the segment.
- Represent ONSS in the broader sales leadership team and help shape how the segment evolves.
Ideal Qualifications:
- A proven sales leader with experience in national security, defense, or intelligence markets.
- Someone who leads with process and standards, and who builds durable teams rather than chasing one-off wins.
- A true partner mentality: comfortable co-owning outcomes with a Solutions counterpart rather than working in a silo.
- You must hold or be able to obtain a federal security clearance
Interview Requirements: All interviews are conducted via video and require candidates to have their camera on for the duration of the session. The use of video filters, face-altering effects, or virtual backgrounds is not permitted for security and verification purposes.
We are not open to using an agency or staffing company at this time. We do not accept unsolicited agency or staffing resumes and we are not responsible for any fees related to unsolicited resumes.
