About Brave

Brave is on a mission to protect the human right to privacy online. We’ve built a free web browser that blocks creepy ads and trackers by default, a private search engine with a truly independent index, a browser-native crypto wallet, and a private ad network (opt-in!) that directly rewards you for your attention. And we’re just getting started. Over 100 million people have switched to Brave for a faster, more private web. Millions more switch every month.

The internet is a sea of ads, hackers, and echo chambers. Big Tech makes huge profits off our data, and tells us what’s true and what’s not. Brave is fighting back. Join us!

Summary

The Vice President of Sales - API is responsible for driving revenue growth by leading the sales strategy, managing high-performing sales teams, and building strategic partnerships within the developer and enterprise ecosystems. • Define and optimize sales processes for technical products, including lead generation, proof-of-concept (PoC) management, pricing strategy, and contract negotiation for API usage tiers and enterprise licensing.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and developer relations teams to ensure the API roadmap aligns with market demands and sales objectives.
  • Lead sales forecasting, pipeline management, and KPI tracking using tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, or specialized API analytics platforms.
  • Represent the company at industry events, developer conferences, and technical forums to promote the API brand and generate leads.
  • Design and implement incentive programs and training curricula that equip sales teams with technical knowledge to effectively communicate API value, security, scalability, and integration capabilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven track record in sales leadership within AI, LLMs, technology, SaaS, or developer-focused companies.
  • Deep understanding of API economies, REST/GraphQL, authentication models (OAuth, API keys), and developer onboarding.
  • Strong technical acumen to engage with developers, CTOs, and technical architects.
  • 10+ years of experience with enterprise sales cycles, multi-year contracts, and complex pricing models for digital products.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field; MBA or technical certification (e.g., AWS, Azure, or API-specific) is a plus.
Working at Brave
  • Industry-leader in privacy, with a research and engineering team that’s innovating everyday to keep people safer online and beat Big Tech
  • Highly competitive salaries & benefits, and generous home-office stipends
  • Fully remote team (no office, no commute)

  • Welcoming, humble, ridiculously smart teammates, and a truly flat org structure
  • Opportunity to get in early at a hyper-growth company, and revolutionize the web
  • Oh, and did we mention Brendan, our CEO & co-founder, invented JavaScript?

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
