THE OPPORTUNITY

The VP, Risk Transformation is responsible for leading the design and execution of initiatives that modernize how risk and operational activities are performed across the enterprise.

This role focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and advanced analytics to eliminate manual processes, enhance operating effectiveness, and enable scalable, data-driven decision-making. The position partners closely with business, risk, and technology leaders to translate strategic ideas into practical, executable solutions that improve efficiency, consistency, and transparency while maintaining alignment with regulatory expectations and the Bank’s risk appetite framework.

This position is an individual contributor role responsible for directly leading and executing transformation initiatives, influencing cross-functional stakeholders, and delivering measurable outcomes without direct people management responsibilities. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.


HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

AI, Automation & Intelligent Transformation (Core Focus)

  • Lead the identification, prioritization, and delivery of AI-enabled and automation-driven transformation initiatives across risk and business functions
  • Implement solutions leveraging AI (e.g., document analysis, workflow optimization, decision support) to improve productivity and consistency
  • Design and deploy end-to-end automated workflows to eliminate manual processes, reduce errors, and enhance scalability
  • Establish and manage a centralized pipeline of AI and automation use cases, including prioritization, tracking, and benefit realization
  • Partner with Technology and Data teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, and governance standards

End-to-End Solution Ownership (Core Expectation)

  • Translate business ideas, pain points, and strategic objectives into clearly defined business user requirements
  • Partner with Technology, Data, and other stakeholders to design scalable, practical solutions
  • Own the full lifecycle of initiatives from concept through design, build, testing, and implementation, ensuring successful delivery and adoption
  • Drive alignment between business needs and technical execution, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose and deliver measurable value

Advanced Analytics & Business Insight (Power BI)

  • Lead development of Power BI dashboards and analytics capabilities to provide actionable insights into operational performance and risk trends
  • Define and standardize key performance indicators (KPIs) to support consistent, data-driven decision-making
  • Partner with data teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across analytics platforms
  • Promote adoption of self-service analytics to enhance transparency and business insight

Business Process Transformation (Targeted Enablement)

  • Assess workflows at a targeted level to identify high-value opportunities for AI and automation enablement
  • Drive simplification, standardization, and integration of processes to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Document key workflows and dependencies as required to support solution design and implementation
  • Prioritize execution and measurable outcomes over extensive process documentation

Project Leadership & Change Execution

  • Serve as a hands-on leader and primary driver of cross-functional transformation initiatives
  • Manage complex initiatives with multiple dependencies, ensuring timely delivery and achievement of expected benefits
  • Influence stakeholders across Risk, Operations, Technology, and business units to align on priorities and drive execution
  • Drive adoption of new capabilities through structured communication, training, and change management strategies

Key Deliverables 

  • Portfolio of AI and automation initiatives from idea through implementation with quantified benefits
  • Clearly defined business requirements and solution designs aligned to enterprise needs
  • Enterprise automation workflows with governance and monitoring
  • Power BI dashboards with standardized KPIs and actionable insights
  • Executive updates on transformation progress and outcomes
  • Improved efficiency, data quality, and operating effectiveness across key processes
  • Follow all established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in automation, analytics, business transformation, or related disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end initiatives (concept through implementation)
  • Demonstrated ability to: 
    • Translate business needs into clear functional requirements
    • Partner with technology teams to design and deliver solutions
    • Drive adoption of new tools, processes, and capabilities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts into business outcomes
  • Risk management mindset, including understanding of operational risk and regulatory expectations
  • Strong ability to bridge business and technology, including translating requirements and driving solution design
  • Familiarity with governance considerations for AI, automation, and analytics (e.g., auditability, monitoring, transparency)
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps)
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities, including root cause analysis
  • Project management and change leadership experience
  • Lean Six Sigma certification and/or demonstrated application of structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies, focused on measurable outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Banking or financial services experience strongly preferred, ideally within operations, risk, compliance, or shared services
  • Experience working in regulated environments, including familiarity with internal controls, audit expectations, and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience supporting or leading enterprise-scale transformation initiatives
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

SALARY RANGE

The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
