THE OPPORTUNITY

The Vice President (VP), Project Manager is a strategic leader within the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), responsible for driving the successful execution of complex, cross-functional, and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives. This role leads project teams, influences organizational change, and ensures alignment with enterprise goals, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations.

The VP, Project Manager is accountable for delivering business outcomes, optimizing project delivery, and mentoring project management talent. This position requires exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills, as well as a proactive approach to problem-solving in a dynamic financial services environment.

The VP, Project Manager serves as a trusted advisor to executive sponsors and senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations to drive business value. The role also champions continuous improvement, innovation, and the advancement of project management practices across the organization.

Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.

 

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Strategic Project or Program Leadership: Lead end-to-end execution of complex, high-impact, and enterprise-wide projects and programs, ensuring delivery meets strategic objectives, scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets.
  • Project and Program Oversight: Oversee the development and maintenance of key project and program deliverables—including charters, schedules, RAID logs, budgets, and executive status reports—ensuring alignment with EPMO standards and controls.
  • Governance & Enterprise Portfolio Management: Drive adherence to EPMO methodologies, change control processes, and approval gates; maintain accurate, auditable records in the Project Portfolio Management Information System (PMIS); contribute to enterprise portfolio-level reporting and prioritization.
  • Executive Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and executive-level stakeholder engagement, remove blockers, and drive decision-making across business, technology, risk, and vendor teams; represent the EPMO in executive forums and governance committees.
  • Executive Communication: Deliver clear, concise, and actionable communications to senior leadership; prepare and present executive-level reporting and recommendations.
  • Risk, Issue & Dependency Management: Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, actions, and dependencies; implement mitigation and contingency plans; escalate appropriately to ensure project and program success.
  • Change Leadership: Lead organizational change activities, including communications, training, and readiness assessments, to ensure successful adoption of new processes, technologies, and business models.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Champion and implement process improvements that enhance delivery efficiency, control, and stakeholder satisfaction; drive innovation in project and portfolio management practices.
  • Regulatory & Audit Readiness: Uphold company policies and banking regulations; maintain audit-ready documentation and support evidence requests as needed.
  • Talent Development & Leadership: Mentor and coach project managers and AVPs, fostering a culture of excellence, professional growth, and inclusion.

The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one’s own actions and conduct.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s degree or equivalent advanced education a plus)
  • 7+ years of progressive project management experience, including leadership of large-scale, enterprise-wide, and highly complex initiatives in financial services or other regulated environments
  • Demonstrated success in delivering transformational business outcomes, influencing organizational strategy, and managing portfolios or programs with significant impact
  • Experience serving as a trusted advisor to executive sponsors and senior leadership, with a proven ability to influence at the C-suite level
  • Certifications preferred: PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP, or Certified ScrumMaster 
  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and time management skills, with the ability to drive results through others and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting, presentations, and stakeholder engagement
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and enterprise project management tools (e.g., Clarizen/AdaptiveWork, Monday.com, MS Project, JIRA)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop project management professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • A proactive, strategic, and innovative mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

SALARY RANGE

The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
