Description

 We are seeking a results-driven Vice President of Operations to lead and scale our Trucking, Drayage, and Brokerage divisions. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, this executive leader will be responsible for operational performance, profitability, service excellence, team development, and strategic growth across the transportation organization.

The ideal candidate is a proven logistics executive with deep expertise in multi-modal transportation, a track record of building high-performing teams, and a strong commitment to accountability, process excellence, and customer satisfaction. This leader must also embrace AI and automation as critical tools for driving operational efficiency and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations across Trucking, Drayage, and Brokerage divisions. 
  • Drive operational performance, service quality, on-time delivery, and margin improvement. 
  • Develop and execute scalable operational strategies that support rapid business growth. 
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability and ownership. 
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, and Executive Leadership to support customer growth, retention, and profitability. 
  • Optimize workflows, processes, and operational infrastructure to improve efficiency and scalability. 
  • Champion AI, automation, and technology initiatives that enhance productivity and decision-making. 
  • Oversee KPI reporting, operational controls, compliance, carrier performance, and customer service standards. 
  • Maintain executive-level relationships with key customers, carriers, and strategic partners. 

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in transportation, logistics, 3PL, brokerage, or multi-modal operations. 
  • Deep expertise in Trucking (TL/OTR), Drayage, and Brokerage operations. 
  • Proven success building, stabilizing, and scaling high-growth transportation organizations. 
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, margins, and operational KPIs. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments. 
  • Experience leveraging AI, automation, and transportation technology platforms to improve operational performance. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

The VP of Operations is expected to:

? Demonstrate working fluency with AI platforms and GPT-based tools - including prompt engineering, AI-assisted decision support, and knowledge acceleration

? Lead workflow automation initiatives across operations, dispatch, tracking, escalation management, and reporting - reducing manual lift and increasing response speed

? Champion AI adoption within the operations team - identifying use cases, piloting tools, and establishing best practices for sustainable AI-assisted workflows

? Evaluate and integrate AI-enabled TMS, visibility platforms, and operations intelligence tools to drive division performance

? Model a learning mindset - staying current on emerging logistics technology, AI tooling, and automation platforms, and actively sharing knowledge with the team

? Collaborate with IT and product teams to surface operational pain points that AI and automation can solve at scale
