THE OPPORTUNITY

The VP, HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as an advanced level consultant on complex technical and business matters and may supervise between 1-2 direct reports. The HRBP provides front-line support to the company business units’ employees and management in the areas of performance management, compensation, employee relations, employee communications, organization design, policy interpretation, and training and development.  The HRBP will drive people solutions to business issues.  This position requires an ability to work independently with limited day-to-day supervision. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.

 

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Contribute to the organization’s performance by providing high level strategic consultation on complex matters that align with departmental and organizational goals and objectives.
  • Monitor human resource metrics (i.e. staffing levels) and provide support for strategies as needed.
  • Provide high level consultative guidance to managers and employees that includes interpreting and applying policies, procedures, rules and matters of legal compliance.
  • Resolve complex conflicts, employee relations issues, addressing grievances/complaints matters and other workplace situations using a collaborative and consultative approach.
  • Work closely with management and employees to enhance work relationships, build morale and increase productivity, retention and engagement.
  • Serve as a point of contact for client base on performance management, employee engagement, retention, organizational design, employee development/ training initiatives, succession planning.
  • Support the corporate changes to policies and processes to fit business needs, as applicable.
  • Assist with talent acquisition processes, new hire orientation, ongoing training, and exit procedures as needed.
  • Involved with interviewing and hiring decisions.
  • Prepare and deliver employee performance evaluations, goal planning, and counseling.
  • Manage, support, coach and train employees.
  • Follow all established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Understands key business drivers and has knowledge of laws, principles and best practices 
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and independently apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, practices and policies
  • Must be able to gather, analyze and interpret data, policies, procedures, HR reports, and apply data, policies, regulations to the applicable facts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills, a proven ability to work independently in managing multiple projects
  • Ability to work with employees at various levels in the organization, seek input from stakeholders to develop solutions
  • Must display strong negotiating, consensus building and facilitation skills 
  • Ability to effectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues
  • Ability to be a flexible, collaborative team player that demonstrates a high energy level and a great tolerance for change
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Highly proficient with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and HRIS systems 
  • Required: 
    • Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive human resources generalist experience 
  • Preferred: 
    • Experience in banking or financial services 
    • Management experience
    • Experience with UKG and HRSoft
  • Required: 
  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Social Sciences or related field
  • Preferred: 
    • MA/MS degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Social Sciences or related field
    • PHR certification 
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

SALARY RANGE

The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
