What We Need:
Obagi is seeking a results-driven VP of Growth to oversee the management, daily operations, and growth of our online store. This role will be pivotal in fully owning the channel’s P&L, driving sales, optimizing user experience, and ensuring seamless operations of the e-commerce platform. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of digital / performance marketing, e-commerce best practices, and a passion for leveraging data to enhance business outcomes and ensure a seamless consumer journey from acquisition to retention.
 
What You’ll Do:
  • E-commerce Strategy & Execution:
    • Own full P&L including forecasting, re-trending and tracking
    • Develop and implement e-commerce strategies that align with the company’s goals and growth targets
    • Optimize the online shopping experience to increase customer satisfaction, conversion rates, and average order value
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, IT, supply chain) to ensure smooth site functionality and updates
  • Marketing and Promotions:
    • Lead new customer acquisition strategy leveraging performance/paid marketing efforts
    • Plan, execute, and optimize the digital marketing calendar (email, paid ads, SEO, social media, affiliate marketing)
    • Partner with the marketing team to develop the promotional calendar and promotional strategies that drive traffic and sales
    • Manage and monitor the e-commerce marketing budget and ROI daily
  • Website Management & Optimization:
    • Oversee the day-to-day e-commerce business key performance, metrics: revenue, promotions, traffic, media performance
    • Ensure consistent site optimizations with the team to maximize site performance that enhance consumer experience
    • Analyze customer behavior and identify areas for improvement in the online shopping process
  • Analytics & Reporting:
    • Ensure relevant and accurate KPI dashboards are in place
    • Analyze web traffic, conversion rates, sales data, and other KPIs to measure the effectiveness of strategies and propose optimizations to improve performance
    • Provide reports and insights on sales performance, customer behavior, and trends to stakeholders
  • Customer Experience & Retention:
    • Ensure consumer communication consistency and coordination across digital channels
    • Collaborate with customer service operations related to e-commerce and ensure quick resolutions for customer inquiries or issues
    • Develop strategies to increase customer retention, loyalty, and lifetime value (e.g., through personalized offers or subscription services)
  • Inventory & Order Management:
    • Coordinate with supply chain teams to manage stock levels, order fulfillment, and delivery processes
    • Ensure accurate stock levels on the website and timely replenishment of popular products
What You’ll Need:
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required; a focus in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or similar related fields strongly preferred
  • At least 12+ years of demonstrated success managing e-commerce businesses and strong understanding of supply chain management and order fulfillment processes.
    • Prior experience within CPG/beauty industry highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Shopify, MMM/MTA analytics tools and most used apps and integrations on the Shopify ecosystem
  • Deep understanding of UX / UI best practices and digital marketing techniques, including paid social, SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media
  • Familiarity with tools for A/B testing and conversion rate optimization (CRO)
  • Creative, data-driven mindset with an ability to develop both strategic and tactical solutions, understand data analytics and performance reporting (Google Analytics, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong qualitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills with demonstrated use of analysis and metrics to drive continuous improvement and decision making.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization/time management skills; demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable operating in a fast paced, ever-changing environment; someone who thrives in ambiguity and adapts quickly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data management, CDP systems, and other technologies
    • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in excel required with a strong emphasis on data analysis tools (Tableau, PowerBI, etc)
    • Experience with HTML/CSS for landing page customization highly preferred but not required
  • Possess a curious, resourceful, and proactive attitude that encourages a team and supports the growth and professional development of others
