The Shelter Solutions Business Unit is comprised of four divisions operating manufacturing facilities across the United States and Mexico, with additional sales and distribution offices throughout the United States, Canada, and Costa Rica.  

Job Description

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting directly to the President, Shelter Solutions the VP/GM, Components is responsible for leading our $500M Components business with one brand offered in three business segments:  Componentized Buildings, Storage and Commercial Roof & Wall, including setting and operationalizing the growth strategy for the business. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, growth-oriented, able to think strategically while delivering tactically and highly collaborative with strong communication and influencing skills. This role will work in close collaboration with key functional leaders responsible for manufacturing, supply chain, sales excellence, marketing, and strategy to drive results. Key deliverables include:

  • Establishing and operationalizing business strategy for the Components business
  • Identifying and delivering on organic and inorganic opportunities that result in above-market growth
  • Delivering on financial plan
  • Cultivate a high performing and highly collaborative team culture grounded in Cornerstone Building Brands behaviors & mindsets

DETAILED ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

  • Identify and analyze commercial opportunities to increase profit through existing and potential customers. Partner with leaders to deliver on such commercial opportunities that result in profitable growth.
  • Lead and support efforts to identify and drive inorganic growth opportunities through M&A.
  • Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of competitor products/services and overall market landscape.
  • Listen to, and follow-up on customer needs and feedback via a customer-centric approach.

Financial

  • Accountable for financial performance, profitable growth, and market share expansion.
  • Establish and administer the operating budget, taking action to improve cost efficiency as needed.
  • Ensure that the key stakeholders are apprised of the commercial activity, market opportunities, status, trends, and business development opportunities and initiatives.
  • Track, measure, and report key performance indicators that are indicative of overall business performance.

People Leadership

  • Build strong teams via recruitment and talent upgrading. 
  • Actively manage performance to ensure all team members are meeting performance expectations.
  • Provide coaching, support and development opportunities to grow team capability.

Other

  • Presents monthly performance reports, metrics and growth progress to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% for customer visits, business meetings, and team engagement.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related discipline from accredited university.
  • MBA preferred.

ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years related industry related professional experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience being accountable for Profit & Loss (P&L).
  • Demonstrated track record of economic value-creation.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization preferred.
