About The Role

Observable Space is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Vice President of Consumer Sales to lead our domestic and international growth for our portfolio of ground optical solutions, specifically tailored to private consumers and small commercial entities. This role will drive revenue growth by developing and executing global sales strategies focused on organic sales, as well as sales initiated by our growing network of domestic and international resellers/partners.

The ideal candidate combines an innovative approach and experience in strategic sales and relationship development, based on a deep understanding of company objectives and roadmap. The candidate will combine previous experience in consumer technical sales with a background in ground based space optics. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and executive leadership to shape market opportunities, execute consumer sales and accelerate the future of Observable Space.

What You Will Do
  • Grow Observable Space’s existing sales revenue for consumer ground based optics.

  • Collaboratively develop and execute Observable Space’s domestic and international consumer sales strategy for our existing portfolio of ground based optical solutions.

  • Grow and manage our reseller partnerships.

  • Identify new market opportunities for ground based space optics.

  • Manage and improve our e-commerce website to accelerate online sales, while improving the consumer user experience and interface.

  • Work closely with product marketing to effectively target key audiences to enable increased awareness, interest, and engagement.

  • Collaborate across the organization, to include engineering, marketing, communication, and production to ensure market requirements align with product roadmaps, messaging, and future product development.

  • Work within the existing sales team to increase sales and product placement for the full portfolio of Observable Space solutions.

What You'll Bring
  • A self-motivated and self-driven approach to sales strategy and execution.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Aerospace, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of sales experience in aerospace, space-optics, or related high-technology industries.

  • Proven track record of leading sales strategies focused on consumer audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage sales cycles.

  • Experience with domestic and international reseller networks.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the space industry or astro-photography.

  • Background in both hardware and software-enabled communications platforms.

  • Experience managing e-commerce sales platforms.
