About the role 

We are seeking a seasoned supply chain executive with experience in leadership roles across the supply chain – plan, source, make, deliver -- to serve as a Gartner Analyst and thought leader. Bringing expertise across the full set of supply chain activities, in this role you will identify and analyze trends impacting the supply chain, help Chief Supply Chain Officers (CSCOs) define both their functional strategy and technology strategy, adopt best practices for managing a best-in-class supply chain, and act as a trusted advisor to CSCOs. The role will be responsible for authoring pragmatic and provocative content, and providing insights and recommendations to clients through webinars, in-person presentations and client meetings.

What you will do:  

  • Deep understanding of AI and how advanced AI technologies are fundamentally transform supply chains

  • Proven track record and hands-on application of implementing AI technologies and driving business outcomes within supply chain operations.

  • ​Exceptional presentation skills geared specifically toward C-suite and senior executives, with the proven ability to establish immediate credibility, handle spontaneous questions, and concisely explain complex AI concepts to Chief Supply Chain Officers (CSCOs). Including events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings   

  • Proven experience working with, evaluating, or partnering with technology companies and vendors that provide AI solutions, ensuring a strong grasp of the AI vendor landscape and capabilities.

  • Research, analyze and predict supply chain function and technology trends and innovations   

  • Create compelling, high-quality research reports, white papers, and thought leadership content that provides clients with actionable insights   

  • Identify technology trends that drive optimization across the supply chain

  • Develop frameworks, methodologies, and best practices to help organizations successfully implement solutions  

  • Build external credibility as an industry expert to represent Gartner research and insights  

  • Provide sales support to help drive engagement with prospects and clients  

  • Actively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions and collaborate effectively with peers within the Gartner research community  

 

What you will need:  

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Graduate degree preferred 

  • 15+ years of relevant field or industry experience 

  • Expertise in a supply chain role in the manufacturing industry, including an understanding of key challenges, opportunities, trends and competitive dynamics  

  • Understanding of artificial intelligence and how new technologies are changing supply chains  

  • Demonstrable executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and other stakeholders  

  • Strong communicator; able to explain complex concepts concisely and simply in writing   

  • Comfortable presenting in-person or via webinar to a range of audiences 

  • Ability to engage with clients and respond effectively to spontaneous questions   

  • Strong organizational skills: ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables  

  • Excellent independent research skills  

  • Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions to client challenges   

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%  

 

Preferred qualifications:  

  • Direct experience in supply chain management roles  

  • Expertise in AI and emerging technologies and their business applications; experience in implementing AI within the supply chain 

  • Prior experience at a research and advisory firm, consulting organization, or similar role

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 194,000 USD - 234,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
