Gurnick Academy is a leading Bay Area private healthcare college offering an extensive variety of Nursing, Allied healthcare, and Imaging programs.  

We are currently seeking a Clinical Coordinator for our Vocational Nursing Program at our Van Nuys, CA Campus.  This is an on-campus position at our Gurnick Campus.

Salary Range: $95,000-$115,000
Position: Full-time

Basic Function

The primary function of the Clinical Coordinator is to manage the clinical placements and clinical rotations of the students at the affiliated clinical sites. This is done through management and oversight of students currently or preparing for the clinical rotations, constant communication with the clinical sites, assistant program director/program coordinator, and outreach department. The Clinical Coordinator is also involved in teaching the didactic, clinical, and lab components of the program, as needed. Clinical site acquisition assistance/participation and maintenance is also a key responsibility for this role.

  • The BVNPT is requiring a Bachelor’s degree for LVN and RN for faculty candidates
  • An instructor in a vocational nursing program shall have or be currently attending a course offered by an approved school in teaching; and shall meet the requirements of: Subsection A or B, below:
    • (A) Registered Nurse:

  1. Hold a current California active license as a Registered Nurse; and
  2. Hold a baccalaureate degree from an approved school; or a valid teaching credential; or have completed a minimum of one year full-time teaching experience in a state approved registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or met community college or state university teaching requirements in California; and
  3. Have a minimum of three years experience as a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse within the last five years

  • (B) Licensed Vocational Nurse:

  1. Hold a current California active license as a Vocational Nurse; and
  2. Hold a baccalaureate degree from an approved school; or a valid teaching credential; or have completed a minimum of one year full-time teaching experience in a state approved registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or met community college or state university teaching requirements in California; and
  3. Have a minimum of three years experience as a vocational nurse within the last five years.
