The Visual Merchandiser will coordinate and implement VM functions for boutiques, maintain visual standards, oversee installations, and conduct training.
Purpose & Objective:
Reporting to the Director of Visual Merchandising, this role will coordinate and implement all of AMIRI’s VM functions for retail boutiques in our West region, including but not limited to execution and maintenance of visual standards, seasonal installations, special events, and sales staff training. The Visual Merchandiser, West will balance art and commerce by ensuring a consistent client experience to drive brand’s values.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Organize regular store visits and floor sets to ensure all locations and teams are updated and consistent to the retail strategy and visual guidelines.
- Maintain and elevate visual displays across stores within the network, managing a consistent schedule among locations.
- Consider localized market needs and variations including inventory levels, product delivery schedules and seasonality to maximize store business.
- Oversee window installations, in-store seasonal creative rollouts, and special projects within the network.
- Create zoning plans/ detailed floor plans and rail mock-ups per store for remote launches.
- Conduct weekly touch bases with store teams.
- Oversee training, execution and maintenance of in-store brand standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal partners including Brand, PR and Communications, Store Planning, Merchandising and Operations to ensure that all corresponding business needs are addressed.
- Develop and nurture partnerships with store managers within the network to promote brand and sales-driving VM presentations that enhance opportunities.
- Maintain knowledge of social activities and events within the region to advise on VM opportunities within the networks.
- Support Store Planning and HQ VM on store maintenance, prop needs, store openings, renovations and retrofits.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years in Visual Merchandising, preferable with a competitive luxury brand and at least 2 years in overseeing multiple locations.
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign and Photoshop) and Microsoft Office tools with basic photography skills. SketchUp or other rendering skills are a plus.
- Experience in executing visual merchandising initiatives, including window displays, mannequin styling, and special events.
- Knowledge of holistic retail business concepts in buying, marketing and customer experience.
- Excellent communication skills, high level of autonomy, and adaptability in giving and receiving feedback.
- Acute attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Must be very flexible with hours of work and comfortable with ever-changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work outside of regular business hours including early morning, evenings, overnights and occasional weekends.
- 30-50% travel required. Ad hoc travel at short notice may be required.
