About Odys

Our mission at Odys is simple - we build safe, sustainable aircraft to cut travel time in half on the world's busiest corridors. Our flagship aircraft Alta enables travelers to skip the big-airport hassle by using city helipads and local airports to connect cities less than 1,000 miles apart (approx 40% of flights). And on average cut CO2 by 76% on tens of billions of flight miles globally.

To get there, we start with our UAV called Laila for commercial logistics, medical transport, humanitarian aid, disaster relief, and defense missions. We’re deploying aircraft with launch partners (Fiji Airways, Honeywell, Aramex, US Navy) beginning in 2026 and already have firm orders for aircraft under contract.

We’re a team of expert engineers from deep tech and aerospace that focus on fast iterations loops (completed transition flight faster than our peers) combined with mastery of the aircraft certification process. Previously, our team developed custom drones, brought multiple automotive platforms into production, and electrified transportation vehicles that magnetically levitate, that roll, that fly. Together, we’ve been learning, developing, building, testing, and preparing for this challenge our entire lives.

We are building the future of aviation, and we need a visual storyteller who can make investors, partners, and customers feel it. Odys is seeking a Visual Designer who excels at turning complex aerospace technology into clear, compelling narratives that win in the room. You will own the visual and strategic narrative of our most critical investor and business development materials and assets, and you will do it in close partnership with our executive team.

What You’ll Own
  • Translate complex aircraft systems, VTOL technology, and mission profiles into slides and decks that are visually compelling and immediately understandable to non-technical audiences

  • Work directly with our leadership team to shape narrative arc, slide sequencing, and the visual hierarchy of decks for specific audiences

  • Craft diagrams, infographics, and data visualizations that make technical and market data land with impact

  • Develop and maintain a scalable design system for presentations (master slides, type scales, color palettes, iconography) that enables the team to move fast without sacrificing quality

  • Own and evolve the Odys presentation template and slide library, ensuring every external deck reflects a consistent, premium visual identity

  • Utilize 3D and visualization programs to integrate renderings, animations, and product imagery into presentations in ways that are both beautiful and on message

  • Create custom graphics, renders, diagrams, and layout assets for use across decks, one-pagers, and marketing materials

Who You Are
  • You have 3+ years of experience designing pitch decks, investor presentations, or high-stakes business development materials, ideally in a startup, venture, or agency context

  • Your portfolio shows work that is not just polished, but strategic: you understand that great assets serve an argument, not just aesthetics

  • You are a PowerPoint power user who can build production-ready, fully templated decks from scratch and maintain complex slide libraries

  • You have a strong command of visual hierarchy, typography, and layout. You know how to make data visual without making it complicated

  • Experience with Rhino, Keyshot, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, and AI tools to create custom graphics and assets

  • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly and deadlines are real

  • Technical literacy and a background or strong interest in deep tech, aerospace, hardware, or mobility is a meaningful advantage. You don’t need to be an engineer, but you need to be curious about what we’re building

Why This Role

Odys is at an inflection point. We are raising capital, closing strategic partnerships, and expanding our customer pipeline; and the materials you design will be in the room for all of it. This role offers direct visibility with leadership, meaningful creative ownership, and the chance to shape how one of the fastest moving companies in aviation tells its story. If you want your design work to matter, this is that opportunity.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
