We are so glad you are interested in joining Sutter Health!

Organization:

SHSO-Sutter Health System Office-Bay

Position Overview:

Support the operational infrastructure needed to manage and scale Sutter Sync clinical programs. This role would focus on reporting, metric tracking, capacity visibility, issue and action follow-up, meeting preparation, decision tracking, and operational analysis. The analyst would also help identify current-state workflow gaps by working with the Epic team, reviewing data, observing operations, and gathering input from clinical and operational stakeholders. They would surface patterns, risks, and opportunities for improvement so clinical operations, product, design, and technical teams can make better-informed decisions.
This role translates raw data into meaningful operational reports, helping business stakeholders make informed day-to-day decisions. This position is a key developing contributor within their respective department or business unit. Bridges the gap between basic data extraction and advanced analytics. Focuses on business value—partnering with end-users to understand operational workflows, translating basic business requests into technical requirements, and building operational dashboards. Working with decreasing supervision, this role applies intermediate analytical skills to solve common operational questions.

Job Description:

****Please Note: While this position is listed as hybrid, regular in-office attendance is required. Candidates should be prepared to commute to the San Francisco office on a consistent basis to support team collaboration and business needs.****

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 4 years recent relevant experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Healthcare operations, virtual care, ambulatory care, population health, or clinical program operations experience.

  • Experience with KPI tracking, dashboarding, reporting, trend analysis, and operational performance analysis.

  • Experience identifying workflow gaps, process issues, data quality concerns, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with clinical, operational, IT/Epic, product, analytics, and leadership teams.

  • Experience with Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Epic reporting tools, or similar analytics/reporting platforms.

  • Experience supporting operational readiness, action tracking, meeting preparation, and decision documentation for complex programs.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Analytics: Solid understanding of data analysis techniques and operational reporting best practices.

  • Tools: Proficiency in data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI) or in application reporting and dashboard tools and intermediate-to-advanced Excel.

  • Data Access: Intermediate SQL skills for independent data extraction and exploration.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical business partners.

  • Problem Solving: Ability to work independently to solve common operational questions and manage routine analytical queues.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
