Job DescriptionAbout the Role:
The Game Developers Conference (GDC) is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven VIP Marketing Manager to lead executive audience development and drive participation in curated matchmaking and high-value networking programs across GDC and its affiliated events.
In this role, you’ll shape the VIP experience from start to finish – developing and executing personalized outreach campaigns that engage C-suite leaders, studio heads, publishers, platform holders, investors, and other key decision-makers in the games industry. You’ll lead the marketing efforts for GDC’s curated networking and matchmaking programs, attracting the right VIP participants and delivering a seamless, first-class journey across every touchpoint – from initial invitation through post-event follow-up.
If you’re excited about building trusted relationships and enabling the business of games, this opportunity was made for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive Audience Development
- Identify and engage high-value attendees through targeted campaigns, personal outreach, and segmentation strategies.
- Craft tailored invitations, nurture relationships, and manage all touchpoints throughout the VIP attendee lifecycle.
- Build lasting relationships with VIP attendees to deepen brand loyalty, drive repeat engagement, and grow GDC’s VIP community YoY.
- Maintain and update VIP contact lists in CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) with precision and attention to detail.
Matchmaking & Networking Program Marketing
- Serve as the marketing lead for structured meeting programs, invite-only networking events, and executive experiences led by GDC’s event production team.
- Collaborate with event production, digital, and sales teams to understand program structure, participant needs, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure high-quality attendee participation by managing outreach, confirming attendance, and coordinating follow-up communication before and after each activation.
Concierge-Style Experience Management
- Provide a premium, white-glove journey for VIP attendees – answering questions, providing personalized details, and solving issues as they arise.
- Act as the first point of contact for VIPs related to networking programs, offering logistical support and consistent communication.
- Support data tracking, analysis, and reporting around VIP engagement, attendance, and feedback to improve future program success.
Internal Alignment & Collaboration
- Work closely with sales and event production teams to ensure VIP targets align with exhibitor and sponsor goals.
- Share insights and opportunities across teams to continually improve outreach, personalization, and conversion.
- 5+ years of experience in executive engagement, VIP marketing, B2B relationship management, or luxury event marketing.
- Adept at building relationships with senior-level stakeholders in games, tech, entertainment, or adjacent sectors.
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle outreach, scheduling, and high-touch service across multiple activations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with VIP copy and personalization tactics.
- Proficient in Salesforce (or similar CRMs), Microsoft Suite (i.e., Excel, Teams, SharePoint), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and familiar with digital event tools and matchmaking platforms.
- Highly collaborative, resourceful, and committed to delivering exceptional experiences.
- Bonus points for prior experience in the games industry, executive programs, invite-only event formats, or venture/investor networks.
The pay range for this position is $95,000 - $105,000, depending on experience
