Role Summary:

Wave Sports + Entertainment is seeking a Video Editor with motion graphics and social media experience to edit original programming short-form videos and podcasts, for distribution across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook. In this role you will have the opportunity to edit high priority video and audio original content for our audience of millions of sports fans and help define our creative direction. We're looking for people who love sports, know how to tell a great story, and can entertain a social media audience. This is a collaborative position with our team where you will have a hand in crafting each story and how to visually tell them. The ideal candidate will have a track record of editing video and audio content in a production team environment, creating short-form and long-form videos and podcasts, optimizing content for a social community, and collaborating well with others.

 

Responsibilities

  • Edit short-form original programming cutdowns for distribution across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter
  • Occasional edits of long-form original programming for upcoming podcast projects similar to our hit shows 'New Heights' with Jason and Travis Kelce, 'Podcast P' with Paul George and more
  • Meet tight deadlines for YouTube and social videos daily
  • Manage and prioritize video/audio projects, using time and resources efficiently
  • Communicate and collaborate with a team of social-savvy producers, video editors, and graphic designers
  • Add creative flourishes beyond what is in the script for YouTube and social videos
  • Edit in a fast-paced environment that is reactive to sports, lifestyle, and culture
  • Leverage knowledge of sports, YouTube, and social media landscapes to maximize content engagement and exposure
  • Help guide creative strategy on assigned social channels to continuously optimize our content
  • Be yourself. We want to be new and fresh everyday, and have fun doing it
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • 4+ years professional video editing and producing experience
  • Highly skilled in video editing and motion graphics via Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects
  • Ability to edit long-form and short-form videos quickly and efficiently
  • Strong audio editing skill set
  • Experience editing long-form hosted video programming
  • Able to self produce creative touches for YouTube and social videos
  • Experience creating viral social media video content across TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and other social platforms
  • Excellent digital media file management
  • Passionate sports fan
  • Strong sense of social media style geared toward a younger Millennial/Gen Z audience
  • Experience in a fast-paced, tight deadline, production team work environment
  • Previous experience working in startups preferred
  • Strong sense of social media style geared toward a younger Millennial/Gen Z audience
  • Experience editing long-form programming and social media cutdowns from those shows is a major plus
  • Great communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong eye for top performing content
  • Must have a disruptor mindset when it comes to standing out on the platforms we are competing on
  • You have a gritty & entrepreneurial attitude and are flexible to the always-changing nature of editing for social platforms
  • Strong knowledge and passion for sports and digital media

This role is a full-time position with a base salary range of $70,000 - $80,000/year, and may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity. Actual salary at the time of offer may vary based on multiple factors, including an individual's experience level and qualifications. Physical Requirements + Work Environment

  • Capacity to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery and hardware.
  • The ability to communicate and exchange information clearly and accurately. 
  • Work is sedentary and involves sitting for the majority of work hours.
  • Able to work full-time M-F and nights and weekends as needed.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions and work is performed in a business office environment.
  • The worker may be exposed to variable lighting conditions (brightness or darkness) and noise during production when in the office.
