Sonatus is seeking a highly motivated Technical Writer with a passion for technical communication and a reputation for excellence. Anyone in this role will work closely with other teams across the organization to document the Sonatus software suite, which has been developed to provide a unique end-to-end solution from the vehicle to the cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Create and edit technical documentation for our automotive solution, including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, and integration guides.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and create content based around it.
  • Work with different teams to ensure that documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
  • Act as a bridge and key liaison between program management, product management, and engineering teams.
  • Ensure all documentation created is consistent with company standards and branding.
  • Review and edit documentation to maintain our commitment to excellence.
  • Partner with internal subject matter experts to create and manage documentation for key projects within tight time constraints.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent experience) in English, Technical communications, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in technical writing for automotive, IT networking, or enterprise software products; with supporting evidence for exceptional ability in task management, technical aptitude, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience writing and editing content for the automotive or software industries.
  • A proven track record for creating content to high standards within tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of the concepts of structured authoring and content reuse. 
  • An ability to maintain the highest standards of editorial quality, accuracy, and style.
  • Proficiency with content management systems (CMS), digital publishing tools, and Google Workspace.

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of automotive in-vehicle networking technologies, including protocols, APIs, and architectures.
  • Experience with topic-based writing concepts and markup languages (XML, DITA, etc.)
  • A passion for understanding the automotive industry to a deep level.

The posted salary range is a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate of what Sonatus ("Company") could reasonably expect to pay for this position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs. The Company reserves the right to modify this range in the future, as needed, as market conditions change.

Pay range for this role

$41$70 USD
