JOB SUMMARY: The Video & Digital Content Specialist serves as The Lundquist Institute's primary videographer and photographer, creating compelling multimedia content that showcases the Institute’s research, investigators, patients, donors, and the impact of its work. Working as part of the Marketing & Communications team, this highly collaborative role leads video production, photography, and multimedia storytelling while also supporting website content and digital communications. The ideal candidate is a skilled content creator and producer who enjoys working behind the camera and across digital platforms to capture and share meaningful stories about the discoveries, people, and partnerships driving biomedical research.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


Videography, Photography & Multimedia Production (60%)

  • Plan, capture, edit, and produce high-quality photography and video for digital campaigns, websites, donor communications, events, and institutional storytelling.
  • Create short-form and long-form video content optimized for platforms including YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and emerging digital channels.
  • Translate complex scientific discoveries into compelling visual stories that resonate with public, donor, scientific, and community audiences.
  • Operate and maintain professional video, photography, lighting, and audio equipment used to capture high-quality visual content.
  • Conduct on-camera interviews and capture b-roll footage across laboratories, clinical research settings, campus events, and community programs.
  • Edit video content using industry-standard software, incorporating graphics, captions, animations, music, and branding elements.
  • Produce digital assets including social media graphics, motion graphics, presentations, and other visual communications materials.
  • Support the development and execution of content calendars and campaign plans.

Website Content Management (20%)

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather articles, images, and other materials for publication on the Institute’s WordPress website.
  • Publish and format articles, event pages, and other website content.
  • Ensure website content aligns with brand standards, accessibility requirements, SEO best practices, and organizational priorities.

Event Videography, Photography, and Support (20%)

  • Provide photography and videography coverage for institutional events, donor gatherings, scientific lectures, community programs, and special initiatives.
  • Create promotional videos and multimedia assets supporting event marketing and post-event communications.
  • Organize and maintain the Institute's digital photo and video asset library.
  • In collaboration with the Event Manager, support event logistics and execution as needed.
  • Ensure a consistent and professional visual presence across Institute events and programs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital media, communications, journalism, film production, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in videography, photography, digital media, content production, or related field. Equivalent freelance or portfolio-based experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in a nonprofit, academic, or healthcare setting preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated professional experience planning, shooting, editing, and producing high-quality video content for digital audiences.
  • Strong photography portfolio, including event, portrait, and documentary photography.
  • Experience conducting interviews, lighting subjects, recording professional-quality audio, and capturing compelling b-roll.
  • Experience publishing multimedia content through WordPress or similar content management systems.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Express, and related creative tools.
  • Strong storytelling, writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environ
