We will also consider a remote-based working arrangement for qualified candidates with East Coast working hours as a prerequisite.

THE WORK YOU'LL DO

We’re looking for a strategic leader who brings intellectual curiosity, analytical rigor, and a passion for understanding fans. You are an expert in uncovering how audiences connect emotionally and behaviorally with sports and translating those insights into actionable strategies that shape brand partnerships and performance.

You thrive on turning data into meaning. You can synthesize research, analytics, and cultural context to illuminate what matters most to fans and help clients make smarter investment and creative decisions.

You are energized by collaboration, working across teams and disciplines to ensure that every idea is grounded in evidence and every recommendation drives measurable impact.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead Fan Insight Development: Design and oversee primary and secondary research initiatives that deepen understanding of fan behavior, motivations, and media consumption patterns across sports and entertainment.
  • Elevate Strategic Rigor: Guide cross-agency teams in developing insight-driven sponsorship and marketing strategies rooted in robust data and analytics.
  • Partnership Optimization: Define how brands should invest across properties, platforms, and experiences to maximize audience engagement, brand relevance, and ROI.
  • Measurement Leadership: Collaborate with analytics and research partners to establish KPIs, measurement frameworks, and post-campaign evaluations that inform future planning.
  • Portfolio Strategy: Evaluate client portfolios holistically, identifying opportunities for rights reallocation, efficiency gains, and expansion into emerging fan touchpoints.
  • Thought Leadership: Create and present category, audience, and cultural insight reports that influence clients and internal teams.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with account, creative, and media teams to ensure strategic insights shape planning, activation, and measurement.
  • Property Collaboration: Partner with top sports properties to co-create content on drivers of fandom.

THE BIGGER TEAM YOU’LL JOIN

The world needs play more than ever. Are you a Playmaker?

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 10+ years of experience in sports marketing, sponsorship strategy, consumer insights, or research consulting
  • Proven track record of leading research-driven strategies that inform brand or sponsorship decisions
  • Deep understanding of sports audiences and fan culture, with experience in segmentation, valuation, or audience analytics
  • Expertise with quantitative and qualitative research methods, including survey design, segmentation, and brand/fan tracking
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and strategic implications
  • Experience managing or collaborating within integrated agency teams (IATs)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
