About The Research & Insights Team

Research & Insights (R&I) is a strategic partner to product management, engineering, User Experience (UX), and go-to-market teams across Salesforce. We are passionate about understanding and solving our customers’ issues, using data-driven insights to create experiences that delight. We balance big-picture thinking with detailed craft, collaborating along the way with product managers, designers, engineers, content writers, marketers, sales, strategy and operations. Together, we shape the future of Salesforce for the benefit of millions of end users.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Define, lead and resource the research and insights agenda for the company’s  highest priority technical products (Agentforce, AI, Platform) to deliver the best possible product experience for our customers

  • Align and partner with General Managers (GMs) and cross-functional executives (Product Management, User Experience, Engineering) to deliver insights for the end-to-end product life cycle

  • Define and ensure insight impact throughout the Technology & Product organization and Salesforce at large

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing, globally distributed research team

  • Manage the team’s business operations (e.g., budget management, resource procurement)

  • Drive an insight-informed and data-driven culture for the company.

Key Skills

  • Proven track record of delivering insight work with measurable business outcomes

  • Expertise in the research craft and its execution in a business environment

  • Excellent cross-disciplinary collaboration skills and strong organizational agility

  • Strong leadership and management expertise

  • Executive-level presentation skills in business and technical contexts

  • Experience in navigating complex organizational issues and driving results using both collaborative and directive management styles.

  • University degree in a research or business-focused field (e.g., Psychology, Anthropology, HCI, Business, Research Methodology, Experimental Design, Design Research)

  • Minimum of 15 years experience leading research in product development, user experience or technology contexts.

  • Bonus: Experience in CRM, enterprise business software, or analogous industries

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $255,600 to $449,600.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $281,000 to $491,500.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
