ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive merchandising and pricing strategies aligned with company goals, market trends, and competitive landscapes.
- Merchandising Excellence: Oversee product assortment planning, category management, and visual merchandising standards to enhance the customer experience and maximize sales potential.
- Pricing Optimization: Lead the analysis, development, and implementation of dynamic pricing strategies, promotional activities, and markdown optimization to achieve revenue and margin targets.
- Data Analytics & Insights: Utilize advanced analytical techniques and tools to interpret complex sales, inventory, customer, and market data. Translate data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for merchandising, pricing, and operational improvements.
- Team Leadership & Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of merchandising, pricing, and analytics professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless execution of strategies and alignment of objectives.
- Forecasting & Planning: Collaborate with relevant teams to develop accurate sales forecasts, inventory plans, and budget allocations based on data-driven insights.
- Technology & Tools: Identify and implement new technologies and analytical tools to enhance merchandising, pricing, and reporting capabilities.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly monitor, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of merchandising and pricing strategies, making adjustments as necessary.
- Market & Competitor Analysis: Continuously monitor market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats, informing strategic adjustments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, economics, statistics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in retail merchandising, pricing, or analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
- Proven expertise in developing and executing successful merchandising and pricing strategies within a retail environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and draw actionable conclusions.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and platforms (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, advanced Excel).
- Experience with retail planning software and merchandising systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a strong business acumen.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
