Responsibilities

The Vice President will lead the day-to-day Fund Treasury operations including payment processing, capital activity, bank account management, bank portal user administration and bank relationship management for Oaktree’s funds and managed accounts. In addition, the individual will take a lead role with projects, transformation, and technology implementations. This person will also collaborate with internal teams and the firm’s financial institutions on various initiatives to increase automation, improve processes, identify, and evaluate technology-based solutions, and establish straight-through-processing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, implement and maintain necessary governance documentation including policies and procedures, controls, and process flows over treasury activities
  • Oversight of bank accounts and managing interest bearing options for excess cash inclusive of sweep accounts
  • Assist and support a future Treasury Management System (TMS) implementation
  • Oversight of future TMS upgrades and/or maintenance with internal teams while managing impact to daily operations
  • Support and manage system integrations between internal and external systems while monitoring data flows for accuracy
  • Assist approval related tasks which can include: payments, payment templates, bank account requests and account data validation across various platforms
  • Rollout and train users on system, features and/or enhancements which have impact on existing processes
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Treasury team fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork and communication
  • Partner and collaborate with multiple stakeholders across Treasury, Compliance, Finance, Technology, Legal and Risk to achieve organizational goals
  • Lead transformation projects including technology-enabled initiatives while clearly presenting ROI and efficiencies
  • Assist in internal audit, risk management and compliance reviews working as a subject matter expert to address action items to strengthen our controls and mitigate risk
  • Strengthen bank relationships with regular reviews across financial institutions including investment banks, prime brokers and custodians to improve Oaktree’s banking structure and cash management
  • Develop Bank Fee Analysis across banking relationships
  • Identify and communicate critical roadblocks, prioritization, resource allocation, and key decision making
  • Develop KPIs and metrics, analyzing trends and introduce reporting to key stakeholders
  • Performing various other tasks and projects as required

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Treasury and/or Cash Management Operations
  • 7+ years of management experience and proven success as a leader
  • Investment management or global financial services experience preferred
  • Experience with various financial institutions including investment banks, custodians and prime brokers
  • Leadership experience in Treasury transformation while instilling best practices and appropriate controls and segregation of duties
  • Experience with a TMS, Workday, Geneva platforms preferred
  • Knowledge of bank connectivity preferred including SWIFT MT & MX Messaging (MT101, MT102, MT103, MT202, MT900, BAI, BAI2) and ACH payments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS SharePoint/Teams or equivalent applications
  • CTP a plus

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field

Base Salary Range

$165,000 - $200,000

In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement.  The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
