JOB SUMMARY
The Vice President of Engineering is a strategic and hands-on role that will lead and scale our engineering organization with a tactical and intentional approach to buying and/or building and thereby meeting the overall Firm’s strategic goals. This role will come with a heavy focus on a buying strategy for internal tools that will improve job functions, increase efficiency, and thereby accomplish work in a more streamlined approach saving time and money. This role will also lead teams in building integrations, AI solutions and a SaaS platform along with other products or services that support the business.
We’ll look to you for driving engineering excellence, aligning technical strategy with business goals, and building a game changing team to deliver high-impact products in an efficient and secure manner. This role requires a strong balance of technical depth, leadership, and operational acumen.
Essential Functions:
Technology & Architecture
Guide architecture decisions for scalability, security, and maintainability.
Stay informed about emerging technologies and assess their potential application.
Drive a culture of technical excellence and modern software development best practices.
Execution & Delivery
Ensure timely, high-quality product and platform delivery across multiple teams.
Optimize development processes and ensure effective use of Agile methodology.
Track and improve engineering KPIs including velocity, quality, and system uptime.
Collaboration & Communication
Communicate clearly with Service Delivery teams, Executive Leadership and cross-functional teams.
Translate technical complexity into business impact for non-technical stakeholders.
Strategic Leadership
Define and execute the long-term engineering strategy in alignment with company goals.
Partner closely with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.
Provide technical vision and direction to support current and future business needs.
Team Management
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing and diverse engineering team that includes developers and application support engineers.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Oversee hiring, professional development, and performance management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong background in software development; experience in multi-faceted tech stacks to include Saas, Cloud, Machine Learning Frameworks.
Familiarity with AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, CodeWhisperer, or similar solutions
Demonstrated success in scaling teams and systems effectively.
Expertise in application support models, incident resolution, and vendor management.
Experience with distributed systemsor large-scale infrastructure.
Exceptional leadership and teaming approaches with strong attention to organization and communication.
Education, Work Experience and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or equivalent education and related training.
12-15+ years of hands-on engineering and software development experience
7-9+ years in senior leadership roles including US-based teams, global contractors, and third party entities. Holds a passion for mentoring and developing technical teams.
Proven experience leading engineering teams, both development and support functions, in a high-growth, fast-paced environment with global reach.
Track record of delivering products that drove measurable and transformative business outcomes.
Direct experience supporting and integrating third-party SaaS and enterprise platforms.
Track record of incorporating AI-assisted tools or practices into engineering workflows.
Experience working in regulated, compliance-focused environments is a plus.
