Senior Vertical Strategy Manager, Platforms & Financial Services 

The Vertical Strategy Team is part of the broader Platforms & Financial Services (P&FS) Commercial Strategy team at Adyen. Our team mission is to position Adyen as the clear choice for embedded payments and financial services and to grow our commercial success within and across our key verticals. 

The Vertical Strategy Manager, Platforms & Financial Services will play a critical role in the teams’ success by driving the commercial strategy and revenue growth initiatives for net new business acquisition as well as growth of existing customers within our key verticals. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payments, excitement about embedded payments & finance and should have exceptional strategic thinking abilities, and a proven track record of driving commercial success. Experience in a fast-paced B2B SaaS company and with embedding payments is a plus.

What you’ll do

  • Act as the voice of the customer and analyze vertical specific customer behavior to identify opportunities for product and service innovation and differentiation.
  • Develop and maintain customer segmentation to identify opportunities for revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Enable and drive commercial execution.
  • In partnership with our Product & Strategy teams, leverage knowledge to strategically enable commercial teams to win deals vs. the competition / grow existing customers, e.g. sales motion guidance, selling materials, knowledge share, etc. 
  • Define pricing strategies and packaging strategies to maximize profitability and market share within the SaaS platforms verticals.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact the SaaS platforms vertical, and proactively identify strategic opportunities or risks. 

Who you are

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in product partnerships, strategic sales/account management, product marketing or related strategic GTM roles within B2B fintech or B2B SaaS
  • Experience in payments and/or financial services and excitement about embedded payments & finance
  • Experience and passion for both product strategy and GTM strategy & execution
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to lead through influence and collaborate across functions
  • Exceptional written communication skills, including the development of marketing and sales collateral, and articulating strategy to internal stakeholders
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to engage with cross-functional partners across Product, Design, Sales, and Marketing.
