A successful Intern will demonstrate attention to detail, collaborate as a part of a team, and work within established deadlines under supervision from the US Tax Team. 
 

Responsibilities

Below are further details of the internship and examples of tasks that the Intern will assist with:

  1. Perform research for determining the state income/franchise tax return filing requirements for foreign disregarded entities and US domesticated entities.
  2. Prepare a summary/matrix documenting the results of the research. 
  3. Contact state/local taxing authorities to gather information and resolve issues.
  4. Prepare tax returns and other forms using e-Forms tax software.
  5. Maintain filing status/progress trackers to facilitate internal coordination.
  6. Assist with logging federal, state, and local tax notices issued to EXL
  7. Monitor online state tax portal accounts for any open matters. 
  8. Prepare/update intercompany agreements.
  9. Coordinate legal review of intercompany agreements. 
  10. Prepare Excel-based tax workpapers.
  11. Perform tax GL accounts analysis. 
  12. Assist with other matters that may arise day-to-day. 
Qualifications
  1. College student with a major in business, finance, or accounting
  2. Hardworking, honest, dependable, practical, and dedicated
  3. Experience with computers/technology, proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with AI concepts
  4. Technical research, problem solving, and effective verbal/written communication skills
  5. Self-motivator with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  6. Team player who wants to learn
