POSITION SUMMARY 

The Tarzana Treatment Centers College (TTCC) Academic Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring an optimal student experience across various facets of the college learning environment. This position is responsible for overseeing programmatic operations, including the identification and hiring of faculty and instructors, scheduling and execution of academic programming, and curriculum development, to ensure alignment with current behavioral healthcare and academic trends. Additionally, the TTCC Academic Supervisor supports strategic planning efforts to improve student success and retention metrics, ensuring that all educational initiatives are aligned with TTCC’s mission and goals. Through comprehensive oversight, this role fosters an environment of academic excellence and continuous improvement for behavioral healthcare professionals. 

HOURS 

8 hours per day/5 days per week 

CATEGORIES OF DUTIES 

1. Implement strategic direction and leadership to ensure alignment with TTCC’s goals and objectives, driving the college's mission forward. 

2. Generate reports on key performance indicators and present findings to senior management. 

3. Utilize data-driven insights to continuously improve processes and outcomes, ensuring that the college remains responsive to the evolving needs of its students and alumni. 

4. Oversee the preparation and submission of necessary reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements. 

5. Develop and implement initiatives aimed at improving student retention, graduation rates, and overall academic success. 

6. Identify and implement necessary resources and tools and support to ensure student success. 

7. Foster relationships with funders, partners, and community organizations to support organizational objectives and expand the college's network. 

8. Demonstrate flexibility and initiative in handling assigned duties and responding to organizational needs, ensuring adaptability in a dynamic educational environment. 

9. Serve as a liaison between departments, coordinating activities and initiatives to optimize operations and enhance interdepartmental collaboration. 

10.Oversee the resolution of student challenges and grievances, ensuring timely and fair outcomes that support student well-being and academic progress. 

11.Oversee student disciplinary actions such as suspension and expulsion, ensuring fair processes are followed. 

12.Additional duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Administrator: 

A. Staff Supervision 

▪ Orientation of new employees 

▪ Scheduling staff coverage, time-off requests, etc. 

▪ Evaluations ▪ Assisting Director with Hiring 

▪ Assisting Director with Discipline 

▪ E-Time 

▪ Support to staff 

▪ Ongoing supervision of documentation compliance. 

B. Administration 

▪ Active participation in agency-wide committees as assigned. 

▪ Support the management team and act as an agent of the organization in all situations. Utilize management team meetings as a forum to resolve differences. ▪ Attend management meetings with Program Director 

▪ Attending in-service training and educational workshops. 

▪ Attending all required staff meetings. 

C. Other 

▪ Work closely with staff to monitor adherence to organizational philosophy goals and objectives. 

OTHER PROGRAMS CATEGORY OF DUTIES: 

Peer Support Specialist Programs 

1. Oversee the development and continuous improvement of the curriculum, ensuring it aligns with state policies and accreditation standards for Peer Support Specialist Certification Programs. 

2. Ensure specialty courses provided meet the 80-hour training requirements under the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification Program. 

3. Manage and support faculty members, providing ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance their teaching effectiveness and keep them updated on industry trends. 

4. Lead the development and implementation of programmatic policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and state requirements. 

5. Provide specialized training opportunities for peer support specialists working with specific populations, including the unhoused, justice involved individuals, and those in crisis services. 

Substance Use Disorder Counselor Certification Programs 

1. Oversee curriculum development, program evaluation, faculty management, budgeting, and partnership development, ensuring that the curriculum complies with state/federal policies and requirements for behavioral health SUD counselors. 

2. Ensure that practicum and field experiences are effectively aligned with theoretical applications to provide comprehensive training for students. 

3. Facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for faculty to enhance teaching effectiveness and stay updated on industry trends. 

4. Proactively identify and address potential challenges, ensuring that both students and staff have the necessary tools and support to thrive throughout the academic program and practicum placement. 

5. Facilitate and oversee interdepartmental projects and initiatives that leverage the strengths and expertise of various teams to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment. 

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE 

Supervisor I 

▪ Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution is required.

▪ Prior experience working in an educational setting. 

▪ Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

▪ Proven ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students. 

▪ Knowledge of academic support resources and student success strategies.
