Job Description:
US Payments turns technology shifts into scalable, controlled treasury solutions for clients across segments and industries. This role sits within the Global Digital Disbursements (GDD) Product team supporting payments across Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, and other digital payment products. We are looking for a highly self-motivated analyst who thrives on building and growing new products, establishing durable routines, performing detailed analysis, and is energized by operating in a regulated, high-growth payments environment.

Responsibilities include:

- Own competitive intelligence and market monitoring across digital digital payments, B2C payments, and adjacent payment ecosystems, leveraging internal and external data sources.

- Produce executive-ready insights, analyses, and visualizations that inform product decisions, competitive positioning, and growth opportunities.

- Build business cases, financial models, and quantitative analyses to support product strategy, roadmap prioritization, and investment decisions.

- Gather and synthesize Voice of Client and stakeholder feedback, connecting customer needs with product performance, operational metrics, and risk considerations.

- Develop recurring portfolio reporting and KPI frameworks that provide transparency into adoption, performance, financial results, and strategic initiatives.

- Support annual planning, executive presentations, management reporting, and ad hoc analyses with clear, data-driven recommendations.

PRODUCT AND OPERATIONAL PLANNING AND ANALYSIS:

- Support requirements and controls documentation by translating business needs, data findings, and risk considerations into clear problem statements, acceptance criteria, and operational readiness artifacts.

- Work day-to-day with Product, Operations, Technology, Digital Channels, Sales, and Risk partners to drive alignment, unblock dependencies, and ensure decisions are well-documented and audit-ready.

- Build and evolve performance dashboards and deep-dive analyses (adoption, client behavior, unit economics, operational KPIs), including anomaly/variance analysis and clear narratives on drivers.

- Develop, enhance, and run risk routines (metric definitions, data sourcing, controls, reporting, issue tracking) to monitor exposure, limits, exceptions, and emerging trends; escalate with clear, evidence-based recommendations.

• Maintain internal and client-facing materials that explain product performance, operating model, and risk controls in a clear and accurate way.

• Develop, enhance and maintain both internal and client-facing marketing collateral

RISK AND CONTROL MINDSET: You naturally look for what could break, where controls are needed, and how to measure and monitor risk over time—especially in fast-moving, time-sensitive environments.

Required Skills:

- Strong communication skills - verbal and written.

- Ability to self-manage: define the problem, build a plan, and deliver high-quality outputs with minimal oversight.

• Ability to juggle multiple workstreams, prioritize and communicate concerns early.

- Ability to multitask and prioritize work responsibilities

- Attention to detail and rigorous focus on accuracy, reconciliation, and consistency across deliverables.

• Strong project hygiene: version control, documentation, and repeatable routines that scale.

- Advanced organizational skills

- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills (data modeling).

• Ability to coordinate across functions and regions and drive work to closure through partners.

• Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities often shift and time-sensitive initiatives are brought in — without sacrificing rigor, controls, or quality.

• Intellectual curiosity.

- Bachelor's degree required.

Desired Skills:

- Some experience with treasury payments products

- Experience of working in a large, global financial institution

- Some experience with analyzing and reporting business financials

- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau) and building repeatable reporting is a plus.

• Comfort using AI tools to accelerate research, summarization, and first-pass analysis—paired with strong judgment and validation.

Experience creating dashboards/reports in Tableau is a plus, but not required

- Experience developing and analyzing business performance and financials (KPIs, revenue/cost drivers, variance analysis, forecasting).

- Treasury and payments products experience (or strong interest in payment rails, settlement, fraud/operational risk) preferred.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
